I saved nearly £900 today because we thought the washing machine had broken and was about to order a new one but I opened this bit at the bottom and drained the water out of it and removed some fabric that was in the hole, tried it on empty and it works again!

£900 for a washing machine? :dread:

Did you not consider calling someone to fix it?

You know you can get cheaper washing machines right?

To be fair I wouldn't go for getting it fixed it will probably cost more than a new one unless you go for the Ferrari of washing machines.

We always buy Bosch white goods and we need a 9kg drum and the latest series is £889, I would rather buy a new one than have someone fix it as I wouldn't trust they were being fair with the price or parts needed, we have had our current washing machine for around 5 years now so we have had our monies worth

Yesterday I finally finished the Cat aviary!!! just a few more bits to add to make it more exciting for them, then now we know its ok we can start building a larger one, this is now the view from my far left living room window

I would like to have been watching them but I am stuck in a room packaging things, a few years ago we had a successful business that we grew and ended up getting a unit/warehouse and employing staff to run it, it was only second to our property business, we stopped putting our input into the business and I went traveling and thought everything was great, within around seven months it had all failed but now its starting up again but as you can see I can't really continue in these conditions!

The garage is even worse, all this stuff is just what I need to sort out today!

If you are spending the best part of a grand on a washing machine, then 5 years is strawberry floating appalling and definitely not your moneys worth.

The previous owners of my home left the washing machine behind. It’s still going strong 7 years later. :lol:

A quick search shows 9kg washing machines cost between £170 - £240 (brands including Kenwood, Zanussi, Indesit and Hotpoint).

£900 is mental.

The aviary is bigger than i imagined, no wonder it took you so long to put it together.

I trust Bosch and I think 5 years if long enough for something that gets used everyday, but it’s still working so it may last a few more years

A lot of the work so done to the inside area to make it nice and less shed like, the aviary is around 9 foot x 9 foot and about 8 foot high, I’m happy with it and the cats seem to like it

Washing machines should last more than 5 years and that includes the sub-£200 ones.

5 years is gooseberry fool, especially for that price!

If you want to spend a heap get a miele they are expensive but last for pretty much all time, the vets the wife works at uses them and they are pretty much constantly running.

I like clean bedding every night and obviously the previous days clothes get washed every day, we also have things to wash like blankets we have at night on the settee,we have a separate washing machine for pet bedding so it’s kept separate
