I don't believe in cloud storage.

I've had some success with home recovery solutions, but it can be patchy and yes that is the sort of thing that may not be sensible to let a friend take a bash at!

Are you on Windows, Mac or Linux? I've found that using a Linux based platform, or just a Linux recovery disk, can have more success at talking to a dead drive than Windows.

This is all still innuendo, right?

Lets just say that last time I took a bash at a friend they certainly struggled to recover! :datass:

Moggy wanted a hard disk but all I could give him was a floppy drive. :(

Jezo i struggle to have any sympathy when you wont let a professional take a look at the drive, and you also dismiss cloud backup out of hand.
can you really accept that this may well happen again and you will lose everything else, yet again? :?

Ha.

Got 'em.

But seriously ye, this guy from work seems pretty reliable, if not I'll take it to a professional. I'm not in a rush to get it recovered, but it would be nice. And ye, I'll be sure to back up next time lol. Was just being lazy as per usual.

Has anyone tried those 3D pens before? I'm thinking of getting one for my artwork and I have no idea if they're any good.

I haven't (sorry for the unhelpful reply...) but they always look really cool on YouTube or whatever. What were you planning on making with it?

Pretty mixed overall. Had a great weekend up in Sheffield at the Pokemon TCG Regional Championships, where I secured a top 128 finish (which keeps the dream of going to the World Championships alive, as now I just need to win a Cup to qualify... in the next two weeks). I had a fantastic time hanging out with friends and one of my testing partners nearly made top cut with my deck. The only loss I had was down to literal luck (my opponent flipped 4 consecutive heads in two separate games and I couldn't do anything) and three of my draws were the same bad matchup, which came one after another at the start of the tournament. Once the day got properly going it was fine and I nearly made top 64, so a lot to build on, be proud of, and be happy about. If you're interested enough to click a link and read more, I wrote a report for reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pkmntcg/commen ... 28_report/

On a less positive note I lost a £250 deck and probably won't see it back. I don't need to replace it card for card but not the best way to end what was otherwise a fantastic weekend. :/

Do you play for keeps in the big leagues, too? :dread: I remember feeling proper glum when I lost my Ninetales, let alone losing an entire deck.

No, I mean someone stole it lol

playing for keeps is a stupid rule, I wouldn't spend as much on hotel and travel if that was a requirement

I once stole a handful of pokemon cards from my friend at primary school

I then felt really bad and posted them back through his door

When I was a kid some family friends came over to visit from Germany and their kid lost like 20 pokemon cards behind my bed, I only noticed this about a week after they went home so I never got a chance to return them. I always worried that they would think I stole them even though I told my parents what happened as soon as I found them.

I think the best card they had was a Haunter, except all the cards were in German so they were totally incomprehensible to me.

Pokémon theft appears to be one of the biggest crimes in modern society.
