So uhh.

I was in Berlin at the weekend to compete in the European International Championships, and ended up being one of the streamed feature matches. You can watch it on Twitch here, starting at 1h 36mins: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/416518046

Thrilled isn't the word. The day went extremely well, unfortunately in round 8 I narrowly missed out my win and in to advance to day 2 of the competition but my loss was against the winner of the previous e event of this size so I don't feel bad about that. I finished 150th out of 830 competitors and moved considerably closer to qualification for the World Championships in Washington DC this August.

So yeah. Feelin' fine.

I had no clue what was going on but still very cool :toot:

You been to Berlin before? Get a chance to see the city in general?

unfortunately not really, I travelled around on the S Bahn and U Bahn a little but I only ate at McDonalds (they have the McRib, nuff said) and spent most of my time doing Pokemon stuff with my pals. I didn't have much energy to do anything after the main shenanigans were concluded each day!

Well done, Wrathy. I didn't understand most of it but the deck shuffling was mesmerising.

Largest event ever held in Europe!

Thanks. Honestly, I was kind of lucky that the deck ran hot for me, I had the ability to do stuff rather than getting locked out which was a massive help. Having the organic Elm in every game was enormous.

Worth going to Germany for by itself - their version has WAY more sauce than the UK edition did during its limited run in 2014, so its much nicer. And you can edit the heck out of it on the menu screen things, which is always good to do.

also they sell Big Mac sauce separately

Cheers! Shuffling is a lot of fun and I like doing it absent mindedly while thinking about stuff outside of games. It's just satisfying in itself :D

To be honest, past all the posturing etc, so did I - I just didn't think it would happen so comparatively soon in my playing career. :toot:

I’m not sure I would want to do this professionally - at this point it is an enjoyable and rewarding hobby. Making it an obligation would be bad, probably.

Bristol regionals next weekend, where ideally I would like to seal my invite to the world championships in Washington DC in August. The off season is June/July so as soon as I lock that up, I’m gonna save some cash and catch up with my non tcg friends. Hopefully go back to Ireland for a bit.
