Can someone give a two second rundown on what this election is? I'm Irish and have been living under a rock but I'm assuming it's something Brexit related?

I feel sick.

Frankly, I'm scared. There's so much stuff happening in the world right now that is so similar to how we were this time last century and we all know how that went down 卍

First time entering a new decade where I've been absolutely terrified about what might lie in store.

It was a UK general election, it decides who the government of the UK will be. The Conservative party (Tories) did not have a majority (e.g. control of Parliament) after the 2017 election and so could be blocked by the other parties. To solve that, the Tories called an election. Boris Johnson's Tory party won a big victory and will now be free to do pretty much anything they want. They want Brexit to happen and it will now happen and under their terms (with EU agreement of course if there is any deal).

Remaining in the EU is no longer an option for the UK as Johnson will take us out. How he takes us out is still to be decided, but for left wing, liberal and Remain supporters in the UK it is a very dark day.

The British people just voted to kill about 80,000 people and to put an end to the Northern Ireland peace process, I think about sums it up.

More like they voted to screw themselves over while giving more money to the people who are doing it.

The fact that my knees are always hurting, I'm not breathing properly, I'm constantly feeling the urge to pee and I'm absolutely exhausted are not related.

Feeling very pleased, found that someone had left a whole bunch of change in Morrisons' coinstar machine reject pot, and so, with my newly acquired £3.65, i was able to get me a £4 bottle of echo falls rose wine for just 35p!
