I hope everyone had a nice Christmas Day

I had an ok Christmas, I ate way to much as usual to the point it made none of it enjoyable, I drank alcohol for the first time in ages (only half a bottle of Prosecco) and it made me feel drunk straight away and ended up sleeping for a couple of hours, then I spent the evening watching tv and not looking at or talking to my partner and he did the same, I am really bored and fed up again and just keep dreaming about being back in Florida and how now I would enjoy it more and make the most of it,

Sounds like it that you need to talk to your partner and solve it or just break up and move to Florida.

Just remember that: the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Mildly peeved off. I'll defend the clunky Wii U til the day I die but having an auto powerdown function without telling me and it turning off when I hadn't yet saved my progress just cause I put it aside to spend some time with the family? Twilight Princess HD is great but having to half-naked wrestle a mayor, save some obsessive kid from a bullriding monster and exploring half of a fire dungeon is only something I'd want to do once in a day :fp:

I know, I think I’m having some sort of midlife crisis and I want everything now and life to be perfect and wonderful, I would however seriously move there if I could, I assume you have to have a skilled profession that’s needed, I will do some research if it’s at all possible,

You paused the game without saving and walked away for awhile? What kind of loose canon are you?

I did the same thing with Windwaker HD when it came out. Lost about four hours progress... :fp:

We've had a stream of relatives staying and visitors coming over for 5 days now, and I am definitely ready for everyone to strawberry float off.

The only saving grace is that once we know what we need to do in the game it's easier to rush back through it but it's certainly annoying. I only lost an hour or so, can't imagine how painful it must have been to lose four...

The sad thing is I unlocked a piece of heart the first time which I've basically skipped the second time. But now I've returned all the Tears of Light to Lanayru. Only a matter of time til I can alternate between human and wolf form whenever I want, which will make it a lot faster to collect the collectibles. The only collectible I care about before I can do that is the hidden sword techniques from the Golden Wolf.

Beat the water dungeon (Lakebed Temple). For some reason I had a memory of the fish boss being bloody difficult when I was twelve but no he's easy. The dungeon itself though? For goodness sake, signpost this thing. Spent way too long getting lost!

Really fun dungeon though. Maybe even the best of the 3D Zelda games, definitely up there with Windfall and Ocarina's Forest Ghost Temple. Twilight Princess is an underrated game.

The dungeons are the best part of Twilight Princess for sure. It's the rest of the game that lets it down for me, in its padding and its lack of innovation.

Agreed. The rest of the game is very forgettable which for a Zelda game is a huge sin. Every other Zelda game I’ve played and completed, I have vivid memories of key, unique moments.

Hmmm, pretty sure Midna's Lament, the Moblin Horse Fight on Bridge of Eldin and Link's Nightmare Vision are three of the most iconic moments in the entire franchise.

The dungeons are definitely the best part though. The design of the bosses are also aesthetically great, even if they're far too easy. The game doesn't innovate much but it uses some things in a better way than its predecessors, like the "hidden talents" - an idea that dates back to at least Minish Cap (if not earlier, I haven't played all the games) but is a lot more enjoyable this time around. Likewise Link has had transformations before but Wolf Link is the most enjoyable (definitely after we get the ability to switch back and forth on the fly), Midna is inarguably the best sidekick in any Zelda game, and Epona is better in this than any of the predecessors.
