It's for dead players in the current mafia game - you should play the next one!

Strange.

A work friend got beaten up on the way home after a night out on Saturday and sadly died yesterday morning. It's crazy seeing and hearing things on the news about not only someone that you not only new but someone you spent time with and had laughs together. I just can't stop thinking about it, I feel so upset for the family and friends, some of the guys at work went to see him in hospital to say goodbye, I went over to speak to them today and it was clearly so hard. I don't really know what to say in these situations but just try to be someone to talk to and show that I care. The other part of me just feels pure rage. Some towards the people who want to act like they were best mates and will tell everyone who will listen but mostly towards these pieces of gooseberry fool that did this. I'm angry because apparently it's three 16 year old lads so they won't receive any meaningful punishment because clearly they're too young to know what they were doing so it's ok that they've murdered someone. I would love to meet one of them and just strawberry floating destroy them, obviously this will never happen because life doesn't work that and ultimately I wouldn't do anything because I'm actually a decent person. It just feels so pointless and unfair.

Sorry for the rant, it's nice to have somewhere to offload this stuff as I don't talk to friends about this kind of stuff and it's kind of nice to just write it down. Please don't anyone feel the need to post any sympathy (towards me at least) but maybe people could let others know how they deal with grief.

I know you said you're not looking for sympathy but seriously that's an awful thing to happen Hime. My thoughts are with you and all those who knew your friend, there are some serious scumbags out there and he didn't deserve to be attacked by them. He died from his injuries, that wasn't just an attack it was murder. Hopefully the people who did this get brought to justice.

You asked how we deal with grief. Personally, faith in the afterlife brings some peace knowing they're in a better place. I'm not sure what your belief system is but maybe even knowing about laws of the universe can bring some peace, knowing that things will work themselves out for those left behind and knowing that karma means the brats that did this will ultimately be punished, maybe not by the same thing happening to them but by something else bad happening to them. Other than that, I don't know ways to overcome grief. It's like a storm we just have to weather. Remember the good times with him, not the events of his death. His death is just one, absolutely tragic event in a great life that was filled with laughs and moments you got to share with him. Remember the positives, don't give the murderers any more power by remembering what they did.

Death of someone we know is never an easy thing to face. Death of someone we know that came so unfairly and unjustly that must be one of the hardest things imaginable. I wish I could tell you how to get through this but honestly I can't even begin to fathom how difficult it must be. I genuinely wish the best for you and those who he got taken from. Rant here as much as you need to.

It’s the most clichéd thing you can possibly say, but the only way it is overcome is through time. We never forget our loved ones and the pain is always there, but time does slowly heal and the memories become more fond and less upsetting.

I’ve had a lot of deaths amongst friends and family over the years. Everything from old age, to motorcycle accidents, to car accidents, to meningitis, to heart attacks, to cancer, to an overdose from inhaling gas, to being murdered with a sword. Every single one has been hideous. But we move on.
