It's unfortunate that we did have to close SONM. It was a great place. It just wasn't sustainable to keep it running. I still take a look at some of the SONM Network videos on occasion to live in the nostalgia. Good times were had.

LightWanderer, how you been? I've been doing well. Just enjoying exploring in various games. Not like it's possible in real life at the minute. Then again, I'm always exploring worlds in games, so there's not much new there. This year is definitely a write-off.

"Oh, yes. 2020," I recall as my grandkids sit around my chair. "The year that every day felt the same. It was the longest year, while somehow being the shortest. Every day would drag, with everyone trying to keep busy while staying safe, but then you'd think back to yesterday and realise it was instead six months ago."

My year group at school has had a lot of deaths over the years. Found out yesterday that a bloke from my tutor group has committed suicide.

I don't think I know many people now from my year group. Theres 3 I have some sort of online contact with. One is in and out of relationships a lot, one always seems to have some sort of weird issue going on and the last one just pops up out of nowhere now and again to say hi. No idea how everyone else is doing with their lives, if they're married, have kids, died, moved countries or anything really. Everyone else I know now I've met as an adult.

Sorry to hear that Moggy, regardless of how well you knew them that's a tragic thing to find out.

I still have a few people from school on Facebook for some reason, despite the fact I haven't actually spoke to them in the 12 years since I left, and have no desire to. I suppose I'm just nosey.

Far too many of them are getting married and popping out sprogs for my liking. It makes me feel old.

Thanks mate. It's been a while since I saw him, but it's still tragic news.

Probably the inopportune time to ask this but how old are you?
Sorry to hear about their suicide

Here's all I know about my year group:

Most I haven't seen

One is a cousin to my birth family (I was raised by a foster family since I was five). Seen him once since we finished school seven years ago. Maintain occasional contact on Facebook, he's friends with my older birth brother (who's just finished his third stint in jail for gang violence)

One is a leader in the local scouts group my kid foster brother is involved in. We keep occasional contact on Facebook

One is making a name for himself in Ireland's art scene. He has a picture in the gallery of our city (Cork) which is the first nationally displayed painting of a trans* person in Ireland

One was released from jail last year after raping a girl (in court he said "he had a bit too much to drink" - on social media he still talks about parties where he goes drinking a lot. The weird thing is in school he never gave off rapist vibes)

And there's only one who I've met more than once since finishing school. He married a guy from Mexico and is now an online lecturer. I see him quite regularly (well I would if it wasn't a Lockdown) and we message every single day. He also happens to be my twin brother

And this is my brothers news report. Apparently my family has been involved in a decades long feud?

It's fine, I'm 40.

Most of the deaths have happened before we all reached 30. One died at 15 after inhaling gas, one died of cancer aged 18, another of meningitis at 18, one was killed in a motorbike accident aged 20 (he was one of my best friends), another in a car crash in his early 20s. Another died in his late 20s in another motorbike crash. One was murdered aged 30 (another very good friend of mine). There have been a few others over the last few years, although I was not so close with those so don't remember when they happened.

Add on family members who have passed away and I'm hoping that's enough grief for the next few decades.

Did everyone have a nice Valentine’s Day?

We normally have a nice meal but this year he ordered us each a massive garlic bread pizza with a butterfly chicken and shish kebab on top, loads of fries (they were actually really nice and had a spice on them) salad (again that was nice) and a chocolate heart praline cake (that was nice but you would only really want a small slice) anyway I was overly full after it all and could barely move and felt really ill, I was recovering watching tv and my partner shouted me upstairs where he had put on 4 electric heaters so it was extremely hot in there, he had a full football kit on (no idea why he thought that was a thing) and then started doing this weird serious starry thing moving towards me (I assume it was supposed to be sexy) after eating a massive meal there was no way anything like that was happening even now I still feel like I don’t want to eat again for a few days
