Not in any direct relationship though. Will a pair of £150 headphones really last twenty times as long my £7'ers? Well, given that mine have given me five years of faultless service, am I right to expect the fancy ones to comfortably last a century and still be going strong?

I have a pair of Sony Fontopia earphones. I must have had them for at least three years now. They're fantastic. They cut out background noise almost completely and the sound quality is great. I think they were about £30.

Got some Sennheiser MX300 heaphones for £12.99 for my iPod , I dont like the ipod headphones.

They are not really surround sound are they though? Looking at the review on Gizmodo the Turtle Beach ones use stereo speakers with some sort of effects to simulate 5.1.

I've never spent more than a tenner on headphones. I'm only going to put them in my pocket and sit on them anyway.

I have some Speed-Link Medusa 5.1 headphones... and they are
strawberry floating fantastic!

They are so comfortable and light that I can wear them for upwards of ten hours straight without any discomfort or pain.
The sound quality is unbelievable, it reallys brings any audio to life.
Plus they are easy to install, and the ability to have 5.1 surround on my PC without having to trapse a full speaker set around the room, is very, very handy.

Yeah, I've got a pair of Bose, but secondhand from my dad, as I'd never spend that much on headphones at the moment. My £35 Sennheisers get the most regular use, though, as I couldn't wear the Bose out and about.

I was looking at getting some Skullcandy purely for how easily available they are, I read up a bit and heard they were a bit rubbish so didn't bother. I did have some Sennheiser CX300's but lost one of the rubber covers making them impossible to use. I'm really tempted to buy some proper headphones but the size is putting me off a bit.

I have some Skullcandy earphones. They're not bad, except for the in-line volume control which cuts out one channel if you move it about. But I always have that on maximum and change the volume via the player.

No. Bose are pretty terrible compared to quite a few other headphones in what ever price band you go for. See:

Sennheiser CX300s for my cheaper ones and then quite a bit more expensive other headphones for when i'm in the house. It's worth the money although I think the topic creator overpaid a bit for his. And you can definitely tell the difference with a decent pair of headphones and £7 jobs. Until you've tried the difference you don't realise.

Another vote for Sennheiser, I bought a pair of cx400s a few months ago and have been totally delighted with them ever since. Amazing bass reproduction and detailed sound for the price.
