I got about 150 hours out of this game, but once I'd got my greenhouse chock full of Ancient Fruits, the cellars and outbuildings full of kegs, the farm fully laid out with the best crops, and I was raking in millions each month (or something) I had to wave goodbye to the game. Had a great time with it though.

I tried a replay a few months back and only got about 6 or 7 hours into it before realising there wasn't really anything new/different I could do the second time round and quit. Agreed it's very addictive though, for the first playthrough at least.

Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. That’s because we’ve been really busy this year preparing another big free update for Stardew Valley… the 1.5 content update. It’s available right now on PC, and will come to consoles early next year. Mobile should follow later, but there’s no timeline yet.

This is Stardew Valley’s biggest update yet!

This update adds some significant “late-game” content to Stardew Valley. It’s by far the biggest solid chunk of new content that’s been added to the game since launch. I won’t go into too much detail right now because I don’t like spoiling things, but if you don’t mind spoiling the surprise for yourself, here’s a link to the full changelog - https://www.stardewvalley.net/stardew-v ... changelog/

Looks like a lot of the extra content assumes you've managed to reach floor 100 in Skull Cavern.

That's me not seeing most of it for a while then.

I've got this on switch now. Forgot how addictive it is.

Started a farm on the forest map. Goal is to get the greenhouse open by the end of the first year.

I've tried to got the greenhouse in year 1 on numerous (5 or 6) occasions but haven't managed it yet, current best is spring year 2 (current farm).

Have almost completed the community center now (summer year 2) aside from a few harder to acquire items (truffle, rabbits foot and duck feather).

I'm so on the cusp of buying this and getting into it. Should I?

Yeah it's the animal stuff that will be difficult cuz you need that dollar dollar early.

YES. I was completely on the fence about it. But it is probably one of, if not the best indie game I've played. I put 50 hours into it in 3 weeks. I can't wait until the new update comes out on console.

Weirdly it's still not back on PSN yet, they removed it back in August due to a problem with the age rating or something.

I've got it on Switch, waiting for this new patch to start a new playthrough.

Thanks guys! Went for it last night and spent a good couple of hours on it. Still not really sure what I'm doing and kept running out of energy (& money). Ended up going to bed really early each day.

I'm hoping you can upgrade the energy meter as at the moment it feels a bit limiting- I'm sure it will all open up as I get into my stride!

Been a very long time since I played it but I'm pretty sure you can eat your harvest to regain energy during the day. Obviously, don't be a greedy bastard and eat it all, otherwise you'll have nothing to sell! ;)

Thanks for this! I tried crafting some kind of energy snack bar and it gave me about 3 pixels of energy so I'll try keeping back some harvest for my own use.

Ahh yes, that rings a bell, crafting energy bars.

Very tempted to try and play this again as although I put a good number of hours in I never felt like I really properly played it. Might give it a go when the update is available!

Buy salads from the tavern, they're one of the best foods in the game as they're relatively cheap and provide a decent amount of energy and health.

Also eat the forage items you find (after you complete each season forage bundle), salmonberries and blackberries are plentiful in their respective seasons so collect every one you see and they should be enough to get you out of trouble when your stamina is low.

Another useful tip is to only clear weeds when your energy is low as using the scythe doesn't deplete it.
