The days in to this and I'm really enjoying it so far. Just been to the wizard's tower and have reached the deep deep depths of level 10 of the mine :datass:

No idea what I'm doing farming wise, just have about 3 crops growing at the moment, although I'm guessing you're not supposed to have much going on at the moment as it's telling me to get a coup. Got a bit of copper going on and fixed a little bridge.

I’ve been hooked on this on Vita over the Christmas period, just into Fall year 2 and now married to Leah after a brief fling with Abigail.

Farm is coming along nicely, got a few cows and chickens oh and a horse. Cheese and Jam is my main goods. Need to diversify my farming a bit and get a green house.

My wife has been addicted to Stardew Valley since it came to PS4, she still plays to this day and after seeing both of us playing the game, my six year old son asked for it on Switch, so there are three of us in the house all hooked.

Yeah both would be good.

Although I would not pay for Nintendo’s gooseberry fool online service as it currently is.

Right, let’s try and give this a proper go this time :)

Edit, new farm started, couple of days in, parsnips been growing a couple of days, got a rod, met a few people. While its obviously intentional to limit what you can do in a single day I still feel the time goes by far too quickly, anyone else feel the same?

Eventually you'll have too much time in the day when your skills are maxed and you upgraded your energy bar etc.

I'm in fall of year 3, married to Emily, Got a kid (can't remember her/his name), cat called Dudley and a horse. My income is growing starfruits in the greenhouse, harvesting them and turning them into jelly. While that's growing/being preserved I also have a barn full of pigs who find truffles for me every day (as long as it doesn't rain and is not winter). I turn them into truffle oil and sell that too. I make around 70k a day from truffle oil and 250k every 2 weeks from my starfruit jelly.

I was also very fortunate to dig up a dinosaur egg. As a result I also have a coup quickly filling up with dinosaurs (they lay an egg every few days so I incubate it to get more dinos.) when I have a barn full I'll be collecting about 5 dino eggs a week and able to sell them for decent money too.

Also found a prismatic shard which allowed me to find the galaxy sword so made reaching the bottom of the mines much easier. Just started exploring skull cavern now which is Much harder. Working on the museum so I can gain the key to the sewers, this allows me to meet Crobus and continue some quest lines.

Overall quite happy with my current situation!

Sounds like your farm is pretty much sorted then! Are you able to still spend a good chunk of what you earn or does that change and you become a millionaire very quickly?

Yea there's plenty to spend your money on. I'm sitting on 2 mil but can easily blow that improving my farm or getting higher end items etc. I'm planning on revamping the farm and giving it a proper layout which will cost a fair bit.

I'm planning to do regular Stardew Valley streams on my Twitch so be sure to tune in if you want / need any help!

I got a horse the other day, so much quicker to get about the town now :toot: I've also got the mine cart fixed so can jump between the town/bus stop/mines/quarry quickly, certainly helps cram more stuff into the day.

I've just entered winter in year 2, upgraded my coop so I can have ducks (and duck eggs, needed for a community bundle), re-structured my crop layout so that all watering will now be done by sprinklers (which will save me a heap of time and energy each day) and generally started ramping up the sophistication of my daily routine.

Sounds like it could be a lot of help to players in my position (ie no idea what they should be doing and when ), do you upload them to YouTube afterwards?

First spring concentrate on getting parsnips and cauliflowers. Also complete the spring foraging bundle in the community centre to get a bunch of seeds.

I was planning on saving 2000 coins for the upgraded pouch first (hopefully I’ll get that after harvesting my first lot of parsnips, on about 1000 right now as I’ve sold some shells, bits and bobs I’ve found exploring and a little bit of fishing), reckons I should double down on seeds for now or the save for the pouch? I’m constantly running out of item slots at the moment.

The thing to remember is that every season takes 28 days and anything that hasn't finished growing at that point will just die. So the best option is to go big on something that has a 6 day cycle at the beginning and then that gives you two harvests of caulis (think they take 10 days, might be wrong).

I’ve seen already that anything not fully grown (and I’m guessing fully grown but not harvested) will die between seasons so wasn’t going to throw money away like that. Might see what I can reinvest in once my parsnips are fully grown then.

Is there a maximum amount of seasons a game can run for? Kind of paranoid my farm won’t be anything special for a long time yet!

Nah the game has unlimited time! I would say, take your time. Don't rush anything, just enjoy the experience!

Grabbed this for my iPad, it looks like a game better suited to mobile / tablet gaming than Xbox.

Finally married Penny :toot:

I am now also rolling in cash, I make more from honey/cheese/mayonnaise/jams/truffle oil than I ever did from crops, so moving forward I'm only going to keep a small number of chillis growing in my greenhouse all year round just to supplement my income.

Still not got the hang of fishing though, pain in the arse :x
