Gits! I think I had some important stuff I needed, not that i remember.

If the game manages to break into mainstream awareness its mobile release has the potential to go massive. Chucklefish's advertising team should push it hard with the women's lifestyle mags.

HSH28 wrote:Worth noting that you get as much from that box as going to sell directly, so there's no point in selling directly to NPCs.

Build yourself some chests for storage and arrange them in logical places. Last trip of the day should be to the sale box to sell everything you want to get rid of.

I wouldn't worry early on about selling stuff you need for other things, it might mean you don't get some stuff for challenges until the second year, but really the first year (or indeed the first couple of years) in game are a learning curve anyway.

That's helpful, ta. The other thing (i'm just a beginner) is there is not enough time in the day for me to travel somewhere, it feels like i'm rushing back to sleep all the time. Can anything be done about this?

You have to focus on one or two things each day, don't try to do too much.

H is right, spend the first couple of weeks just clearing ground, planting crops etc. Try and aim to finish your day around 8-9pm. With regards the mines, don't bother doing it until you're only tending crops instead of planting and aim to do 5 levels max as that is where the save point is. Stardew is about routines, you're never going to be able to do everything. Also, check the weather for the following day - if it's going to rain then you don't need to water and therefore have more time for exploring. Winter is a season where you can't grow much and so mining is a useful thing to pass the time then.

11 snoops, though if you're willing to shop around the various regions then it can be picked up quite a bit cheaper (Mexico I think).

Ok thanks, Rex. Hard to resist really, seems perfectly matched for the Switch :toot:

Seems a lot to get done in a day. Made a sprinkler than realised it only did 4 squares

Used some expiring Nintendo Coins to get a couple of quid of this on the Switch store. Haven't dived in yet but will probably get some initial playtime in on my lunchbreak. Looking forward to seeing how it's ported onto the Switch, I imagine the controls are just as good as on the PS4.

I got that stuff but never really understood the interactions with other NPC's. Also how do you keep yourself occupied until 8-9pm? I always felt like I would complete my farming stuff in a couple.of minutes and be left kicking my heels.

The farming life is a cruel mistress.

I've only put maybe 45 minutes into this so far (the pull of finishing another season in FM was just too strong) but I've been refreshing my memory on best practices and feel ready to make a decent go of my farm. For Spring I'm just aiming for maximum money, spamming cauliflowers and selling everything I can get my hands on, then in the summer I'll focus on building up some infrastructure.

How do I get maple syrup?

Also I just got a chick, do I need anything else?

Yeah, a chicken coop.

Edit: a mayonnaise maker is a good investment too as you'll get more cash for them than just selling eggs.

Maple syrup is tapped from maple trees, think you have to craft a tap. Can't remember what you need to do it though.

Ahh thanks for the tip, got a tapper now and some hay to feed the chickens as they were looking a bit thin

Rookie error getting animals in year 1 - they'll drain your resources. Turn them into fried chicken and be done with it!

Don't forget you'll need a silo for hay storage in the winter as it doesn't grow.

But, animals don't die from starvation- you just don't get any eggs/whatever. And I imagine their heart rating will drop.
