PostHelp me find a game GRcade

I'm after some help trying to find a game I played a while ago and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. It was a modern retro kind of game, 2D platformer kind of thing, where you are a little spaceman and I think you are in a spacestation jetting around or something. I remember it was quite hard in an old school way.

I seem to remember it was called something like xxxyyyy or something. But Google doesn't seem to turn up any results. At a guess I'd say it was released around 2010 and I think I played it on DS or 3DS.

Help me GRcade!

I beat the game twice. It's really slippery and light. I don't like the feel of it.

Sort of begs the question why did you beat it twice?

The gravity swapping is instant and the level design is made to well match the air control you have so I think it's fine. It's been forever since I played it so I can't remember how slippy it feels but I iirc it had very little (if any) horizontal momentum as you can constantly switch direction. Not sure about "lightness" given there is no traditional jump but I guess there isn't really much (any?) vertical acceleration, but I think that works well for giving predictable air control.

I was a bit unsure about it on the first playthrough, I thought it was okay but I wasn't completely bowled over by it. I seen people recently talking about how amazing it was, so I went back to play it to see if I missed something. It's been several years since I played it, it's not that long, so it wasn't a great sink on my time. Second playthrough cemented my thoughts on it.

I guess by light I mean the momentum of the character when moving. You zip along and it feels like there's no weight to the movement.

With slippery, I mean the character coming to a stop when you stop inputs. There's a window where you keep moving. Megaman 1 and 2 have this issue, and I really dislike the physics involved. They sorted it out by 3.

Controls is not the right word for this, so the initial post I made isn't right in that respect.

Platform character control is a very subjective thing of course, some people seem to love floaty/slippery controls but for me it's a killer. It's one of the reasons why Ori never quite worked for me but others loved it.

Slippiness is actually one of the main things I dislike about Mario! He is very momentum based compared to a lot of other platformers.

I'd have to go back to VVVVVV to see what the ground control is like, it's only the air movement I really remember.

I think you're thinking of the star levels from New Super Mario Bros. on DS
