PostHelp With Annoying Pop Up Virus/Scam Thing

Over the past couple of days when I click on certain things like “reply to message” on eBay it opens a separate tab to a website saying “congratulations BT customer, rate us and win a gift card” or similar, it’s only happening on my iPad and not on my iPhone or MacBook, how can I stop this? I’d really appreciate any help

Are there any decent anti-malware apps for iOS?
Other than that, factory reset will probably be the easiest and quickest way.

Thanks for the help, I do have things like bookmarks, passwords, music etc saved to iCloud but I don’t pay any extra so things like photos would be lost, I have just been on various websites and it only seems to do it on eBay so it’s either something wrong with the eBay site or I just won’t bother going on eBbay on the iPad, you can cross it off and it does not randomly appear, it’s only when you click certain things,

I get similar happen on various websites from time to time, most recently the Daily Mail. It's just really scummy advertising tactics.

Clearing browser history will sort it. Alternatively open Settings, find Safari, scroll down again and tap 'Clear History and Website Data'.

There's nothing you can do. It's embedded in to adverts so any websites that host the ads have this problem on iOS.

If you're using eBay then download the app. The mobile website is horse gooseberry fool anyway

Surprised you don't pay extra for additional iCloud storage.

Do they not let you buy that with iTunes vouchers then?

Send it to me and I'll fix it, then you just buy a new one.

I get that whenever I try to use PlayStationTrophies.org on my iPhone. It’s bloody annoying as I use that site quite a lot.

I agree that is is malicious adverts that manage to get through adverts overriding javascript actions programmed into the webpage for clicking certain links etc. After a while they should get banned and go away.

It can also happen on wordpress blogs etc. that have been infected with malware because their security is gooseberry fool and not been updated in an age. All it takes is for some dumb banana split to have an admin account on their company CMS with a bad password and hackers get in and sneak in scripts into their template files, often the owners never even notice they are there.
