While I've got the kit, I've not tried the VR mode becuase the move controllers are dog gooseberry fool. Would love to be able to use proper controllers for it.

Is the season thing with hitman 3 extra dlc or is it a buy the base game and you get on going stuff kind of deal?

Anyone's guess for the maps, but other stuff should be done with updates. We'll find out come the 13th.

Hitman Trilogy brings all three games of the World of Assassination trilogy together, with it releasing on the 20th of this month. It will be available on Game Pass on the same date, along with Hitman 3 releasing on Steam and PC VR support. Elusive Target Arcade, which also arrives on the 20th, bundles a few of those contracts together, with some more complications to overcome when completing them. Rewards are available for doing so, but there's no longer the fear of missing out, as if you fail you can try again the next day.

Freelancer is a new mode that turns the Hitman experience into a roguelike, where planning is more cruical than ever and weapons are more disposble than ever. You'll earn money from the hits you do, which can be used to customise Agent 47's safehouse along with buy weapons when out on missions. It's coming some time in the Spring. Also teased was a new map that looks pretty pirate style.

Oh gooseberry fool, hooray for being on gamepass, but now I'm torn with the prospect of losing my progress made on those first two games.

Elusive target arcade sounds like a cross between the escalations and elusives.

Nah, it's more like they've made the elusives that bit harder to make up for them being permanent, and the need to complete three of them in a row for it to count as complete means the tension is higher.

The article gives a clearer picture on everything shown.

Elusive target arcade sounds perfect, finally

The PC VR looks amazing, I wish I had the tech. It still comes across as sci-fi to me seeing that

If there is a physical release of trilogy I might buy it just because it's easier than trying to work out how to unlock the other games I own in various ways in Hitman 3.

47's Freelancer safehouse has Batman vibes. The mode looks fun too! Sounds really robust.

I wish there was some kind of cross platform progression. You’d think since it’s always online they’d be able to pull it off. Would love to try PCVR but can’t keep restarting on new platforms.

This is why cheats should still be a thing

Just type in AGENT47 and unlock everything, no worry about losing progress

Restarting on PC will hurt but the VR experience will more than make up for it. Don't think I'll be buying it on the 20th but it's definitely getting snapped up when I have time for it.

This being on gamepass is great, but I've not seen anything on gamepass run in VR before, not even first party titles with VR versions like Skyrim or Hellblade. The only exception I think is Star Wars Squadrons, but as that's an EA Play title, it runs through another launcher. As a result, I'm not sure I'm confident enough in the gamepass version to start up through that, so I'll probably still pay for this on Steam instead.

Great news about the trilogy coming to game pass :D

Do all the levels from 1 and 2 import into the third game (to take advantage of the engine upgrades) or are you better just to play them within the release they first appeared?

Just wondering the best way to approach the games as I've been wanting to play these for a while.

It's all a bit weird to me, as them unlocking the levels in Hitman 3 is a better way to play them than their own games, so I'm not sure why they're not just doing that instead of this release. Or maybe that is what they are doing and it was a bit unclear.

Right now, it checks to see if you either own Hitman 1 or 2 digitally, or have it installed if your have the discs, and if you do, you can 'buy' the pass that unlocks those levels in Hitman 3 for free. There is one item in the old games, a phone you can use as a distraction, that didn't get brought along into 3, but everything else is there. I'm playing Hitman 2 in Hitman 3 right now. All the levels, the cut scenes, it's just like playing Hitman 2 but it looks a bit nicer and any items you unlock for completing challenges in one game can be used on the levels from the other games, but it's not really the sort of game where having a bunch of stuff unlocked makes it easier, as you can always only take a couple of them into any level.

Thanks dude! I wasn't sure if you'd miss out on cut scenes/story stuff by playing the Hitman 1+2 levels in the third game so that's good to know.

I think I picked up the first 2 in sales over the years but at least I'll have access to them and Hitman 3 for sure when they land on game pass.

I was assuming Trilogy is just Hitman 3 with a reskinned title screen and everything unlocked by default.

Surely this is the case. Hoping all previous DLC is included.

Shame there doesn't seem to be a pre load available for this on either Steam or Gamepass. Not that I expect to be able to spend much time with the game this evening, but I'm very keen to see just how the VR runs on my PC.

For anyone with a Series S/X, is the gamepass Hitman trilogy "optimised" for Series consoles, or is it possible to play it off an external hard drive? Am going to struggle to clear space on my internal drive for it

I don't think it got that big a buff in terms of an actual update, but if memory serves, it runs at 60fps on my Series S.

The main thing is the load times, which are much quicker, and quite important in a game like Hitman where you might constantly be retrying sections.

VR confirmed for PC Gamepass as well.

Although it looks like if you choose to pick up progress on Gamepass, you probably won't be able to transfer progress to Steam at a later date if the game comes off the service.
