New seven part, paid DLC on the way with the first chapter coming at the end of the month.

Looks similar to Patient Zero in that IO are utilising the already existing levels to create new assassinations with a new story to tie them together.

I'm very excited. The amount of content in this game is amazing.

£30 for 7 new missions (or £5 each) taking place in the existing levels. :dread:

I'm holding off for the inevitable GOTY edition, preferably if it ever releases on Steam.

Did you play the previous "special assignments", for example those set in Sapienza? They really do change and add a lot so it's definitely a more substantial addition than, say, the elusive targets. The Icon added an entire film set to Sapienza complete with its own set of unique challenges and mission stories.

Perhaps £20 would have been a better price point for most but I'll be jumping in immediately and I've no doubt that the content will be worth it.

Just got an easy silent assassin on the elusive target they're running at the moment. Shot him with my emetic poison gun and then drowned him in a bucket. :datass:

The special assignments did sure but that's not what this DLC is.

I've been trying to set this up on PS4 and it won't let me transfer my profile from Hitman 1 and 2. I assumed you'd be able to transfer everything smoothly... I didn't have an IOI account so went back to Hitman 2 and made one. Now when I start Hitman 3 up and go to the IOI Account section of the options menu it says my account is linked but none of the data is showing up.

What a joke. I've got previous games' DLC and inventories which I can't access. Hitman's a good game but the user experience is piss poor, all they care about is getting you to buy DLC.

Stupid question but are you using the transfer website? It doesn't just do this automatically.

When I got the PS5 version of Hitman 3 I had to log into my IOI account and it transferred all my data across.

I don't think I have. I know I tried a couple of elusive targets, screwed both up, and then got really annoyed at the whole concept of not being able to try it again. Having bought the complete editions of the previous entries, I couldn't really tell you what from them was DLC and what wasn't now.

£30 is a bit rich, but it's more Hitman 3 so yeah I'll bite.

Yeah that does seem like a bit of a tough sell personally, depends on just how new the content feels.

At first glance it does seem a bit like drifting into horse armour territory

(This is base Hitman thread right?

So Paris down.

I think I really liked that. I've done the 3 mission stories it suggested, and a couple of others by mistake.

I'm not normally a fan of doing the same thing multiple times but it works quite a bit on this. The objective markers I understand were a bit controversial at the time, but I don't mind them. Every run gives you more working knowledge of the machine, and more options. I'm not sure how many times I'd want to reply each level - but figuring out how to get all the challenges is a lot of content.

Dressing up as a model, doing the catwalk and then poisoning target during our celebration/briefing drinks felt really cool. Obviously very scripted, but still.

Only area I struggled with was getting Sato out the way - in the end poisoned his drink to make him ill - where there others?

This feels more like a puzzle - how do I use all the elements to get my goal - so less exploring is nice. (Although it often only tells you vague area).

Next off to Sapienza which I understand is considered a high point.

You can turn off the prompts and markers if you think you'd prefer that.

No I like it - can see why purists might not

Sapienza is quite fun then.

Explosive Golf Balls
Woodchipper
Stabbed
Smothered by his 'Psychiatrist'
Electrocuted by puddle
Blown up the BBQ
Blown up by fire place
Scared by ghost of his mother
Smothered by "lover" while vomming in toilet

I liked the virus section less - only found 2 ways to destory it, one that needs the USB stick that's annoying to get. Doing that last same bit again and again was annoying (although finding more ways into lab helped)

Yep, I've never been a fan of the virus part. It's funneling you down a specific bit of the map and there never seems that many ways to destroy it. I've only ever done the manual override in the hazmat suit and the laptop/USB way.

What I do when doing challenges is just complete the assassinations and stuff, then load up a previous save where everything's completed and I'm right at the extraction point. The completed challenges will unlock upon completion.

I like that in Hitman 3 they made the more linear parts like that only mandatory on the first play through. Like the intro to Berlin and the Chongqing exit.

Though if the little challenge image pops in the corner, whilst the challenge is done and you can't lose that progress, you have to do a completed run of that level to get the XP and to get the challenge showing as completed in the menu.

So for Paris I was basically messing about and getting loads of challenges at once, and then "banking" them all in for a massive XP boost.

For Sapienza, because I don't particularly like the virus bit, I just kept that aforementioned save next to the extraction point and would load that whenever I needed to finish the level.

Also if you get a target on their own, like in a bathroom, you can do a quick save before killing them, and then try and get various assassination challenges for fibre wiring them, drowning them, headshooting them etc.
