Finished the Mumbai map a couple of time last night. The scope of that map is genuinely ridiculous.

This is where I'm up to in Hitman 2 (I've taken a break from this for a bit to try and get Skyward Sword off the backlog), and so far the 3 maps I've played have all been excellent, and Mumbai might be my favourite out of these and anything from Hitman 2016.

Did you come across the 'noisy neighbour' situation?

Mumbai is an amazing map. Absolutely bustling like a real place.

I found Mumbai a bit too big, and difficult to move around in.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I have been in the area, and I saw 2 people on a verranda having a discussion about singing, which I am guessing relates to it, but I was not able to find anything beyond that. I might have another look this afternoon. Any subtle hints? Just keep searching the area?

I did the barber storyline, but frustratingly the identified target (malestrom) never came over, but about 30 other people did, so I felt like a shaving troll.

I do see the criticism that it is too big and hard (heh) to get around, but I much preferred it to Colombia. I dont think I like the ones that feel like compounds (Colorado did not do much for me either).

I'm pretty sure you need to do it near the start, for sure before eliminating any of the targets.

And yeah, I think most Hitman levels feel overwhelming at first. My initial play of Miami definitely left me feeling that way, but once you've found certain disguises and items, learned certain routines every future playthrough becomes much easier, and you can start being a lot more creative.

I love the Miami map so much. I have never been a big fan of replaying levels - it always feels like wasting time and not making progress. With Hitman in feels more like interactive theatre - the more you poke around the more you experience and the more important everything becomes.

I do wish there was a more elegant way of the game communicating what challenges are available to you at any time though - it starts to feel a bit like a memory test when you have 80 different scenarios you are trying to fulfill. It would be nice if more of them were simply linked to exploration and investigation. Instead I ende up shooting a target, reloading, strangling them, reloading, pushing them off balcony etc. It can make it feel a bit disjointed.

Has anyone else started with Hitman 3 and then gone back to Hitman 2 and Hitman? I think I'm reaching the end-game in 3 and I want to know if I've put myself at a disadvantage by not realising that the previous games levels were available when I first started. I assume the graphics won't be quite as good, but from the messages above it sounds like the levels are just as good?

The levels are probably better to be honest. If you're playing the Hitman 2 and 1 levels within 3, all graphics and QoL improvements will be there too.

Yeah I think starting with 3 you probably have the best to come in 1 and 2.

I'm sure it hugely bloats my playtime but I very rarely reload mid-level to try a different approach - it feels like cheating and I find it much more satisfying to do a full "clean" run for each challenge if I can (of course some just get earned accidentally in the chaos when everything goes wrong).

Interactive theatre is a good description of the sandbox levels where all the characters feel a bit like actors following scripts, I like it. Hitman is definitely all about replaying the levels!

I love the level set in a block of suburban housing in hitman 2. Poking around all those little self contained areas is so good.

Oh, yeah. I loved exploring that place. My favourite still has to be Haven Island. Absolutely love that place.

I don't have the expansion DLC so I've not played that one.

Ah. It's an enjoyable one. Of the two you get from Hitman 2's expansion, it's the better of the two.
Not that there's anything wrong with breaking into a bank

Well worth playing if you get the chance, I really liked the bank level

You know what you're getting with it - more Hitman!

EDIT: And I prefer the bank to the island resort, just to counter Rula with my superior subjectivity ;)

Am I missing something? Dunno where I'm meant to find 1/2.

If you click on campaign, you can use the shoulder buttons to go between Hitman, Hitman 2 and 3? Same on the Destinations Menu. I'm used to Hitman 3, so not sure how different the trilogy is.

Aye thanks man, you're right.
