I'd play through each one once, taking them in, having fun along the way, enjoy the story, then go back after you've been through them all.

Yep, seems like the sensible approach.

Might just stick with the PS5 game. At least until the Steam version is massively discounted.

Disappointed my Hitman 1 progress did not carry over. But have done another couple of missions and am back in the groove. Brilliant fun.

You need to go to the ioi website and transfer it manually, I think.

It suggested that was only for a Hitman 2 save. Maybe that was a separate thing though.

I don't know if the situation changed with this trilogy released, but they always said they couldn't do save transfers between 1 and 2 because of the different publishers.

Ah interesting. Does that mean unlocks from H1 (in the trilogy edition) wont find there way over either? Time will tell I suppose.

If you've got the Hitman 1 levels in Hitman 2, then you can carry over your progress because it's part of Hitman 2.

Indeed. But I never owned Hitman 2. It feels like a paradox at this point.

Anyway.... I have now wrapped up season 1. Thoroughly enjoyed it. My Tier list (lol) is as follows -

Paris
Sapienza
Bangkok
Marrakesh
Hokkaido
Colorado

I have set the stories (or whatever they are called) to "minimal". Whilst it can be occasionaly frustrating, it feels great when you are able to piece together where to find something through overheard conversations and Intel clues. Am going to start Season 2 this evening.

I downloaded this over the weekend on the Xbox and I'm really enjoying it. I didn't appreciate that the H1 and H2 levels were also included initially (at least as far as I could see from the main menu) so I fired straight into the Hitman 3 levels. I've completed the training, Dubai and Dartmore levels. Currently in Berlin. I have found a few bugs though. In the Dubai and Dartmore levels, spiking two specific drinks consistently crashes the game :| Very annoying. The always online thing is another annoyance.

I didn't particularly get into the previous Hitman games. I thoroughly enjoyed Absolution, even though I appreciate it was a big departure in terms of gameplay. I played a few levels in the other games here and there, but I guess back then (2002-2006) I wasn't into the puzzle aspect, and just ended up getting frustrated by treating it as a semi-action game. This version is fantastic though, so maybe the fact that I now appreciate there is no rush makes a difference.

The graphics are stunning too.

Berlin was definitely the trickiest level so far. The layout was like a maze to me, and so it was much harder for me to navigate than the previous levels. Also the fact that your targets aren't known in advance added to the confusion.

The China level is good so far. Very, very pretty to look at. Looks like there are lots of options available in terms of approach too. I felt a bit more limited in Berlin, but maybe that was more to do with the claustrophobic feeling and the sheer number of people everywhere.

Played through Miami (H2) a couple of times last night. That stage is absolutely wild.

My only complaint is that you really have to keep checking the challenges menu frequently to ensure you are going to tick off as many as possible. Obviously you could just enter the map with a specific 3 or so that you want to fulfill, but then you would be replaying the map 30 times, which isn't really practical. Any other tips on how to keep improving mastery without feeling like you are just "min-maxing"? I tried some escalations last night, but that seemed to be a ver slow way to earn XP.

But yeah, once again I find myself absolutely staggered by the complexity of the scripting that is going on to hold this all together.

Just FYI- unless it's a specific complete the level challenge you generally don't need to complete a mission to unlock a challenge. So you can save in front of the target, kill them in multiple ways (fiber wire, headshot, accident etc) and reload for example and you'll permanently unlock that challenge and the mastery XP.

Is there more of a purpose to challenges than just replayability? I'll check out a few challenges before starting the level, and try them if I can. But I'm not focused on them. Should I be, or am I handicapping myself by playing as I am currently?

Sorry. yes i'm aware of that - thanks though. It's just that because of this I end up forever cycling in and out of the challenge menu, making sure that there isn't one I can tick off whenever i see something comical going on in the world. It can just make it feel a bit disjointed. But i'm very thankful that numerous challenges can be ticked off through reloading saves, it's just it makes it feel a touch arbitrary at times. But again - fantastic game(s), I wouldn't raise the frustration if I wasn't enjoying so much about it.

I don't really understand Hitman Trilogy; I've downloaded it but it looks like I only have the options for the yacht tutorial mission, or Hitman 3.

Am I missing something? Dunno where I'm meant to find 1/2.

If you click on campaign, you can use the shoulder buttons to go between Hitman, Hitman 2 and 3? Same on the Destinations Menu. I'm used to Hitman 3, so not sure how different the trilogy is.

I am just obsessed with the Miami map, I have been playing it for the past 4 days. Thought i would try Colombia and was basically "wait a minute, this is not Miami".

Up to level 15 mastery, think I will try a few more escalations tonight. I would like to give Silent Assassin a go also.

The amount of content is a bit paralyzing tbh. Best stick to lovely safe Miami.....
