I switched from PC to PS5 for hitman 3, so I’m currently working my way through the whole 1&2 campaign in advance of its release.

Looking at everything more closely here, it really is apparent how I barely scratched the surface of these games. I basically just did each mission once then came back for the elusive if one came up. All the alternative story missions, escalations etc. just completely passed me by. For some unknown reason, I had it in my head that each time I’d play the level again I’d have to do the main story objectives again. Even though I knew that wasn’t the case. Weird.

Anyway, it’s kind of overwhelming how much there is to do and mess around with. Even simply opening the character portraits on the preparation menu gives tons of back story on the targets that isn’t told through the cutscenes. I love it.

I've played Hitman and Hitman 2 for hundreds of hours and I still feel like there's tonnes of stuff I haven't seen

There's so much freedom with the game, not even counting the challenges. Just make your own! Kill everyone on the map, restrict yourself to only things you find in the map to kill. Hand-to-hand only. So much stuff. No replay is ever the same, either. Just under ten days left for the next chapter to begin.

Can't wait for Hitman 3, how many locations will there be in this game?

Based on the other two games, I'm guessing six in the base game? I haven't really followed the news so I'm assuming it'll just be a similar size to the others.

Very excited for the levels set in England and China though. Those settings are giving me Contracts vibes.

Just looked at the leaked list, and it is indeed six. A map somewhere in England sounds like it'll become a favourite of mine just because of home-location-bias, but I'm confident it'll be a good map without such bias.

The trailer for that England level almost made it look like a murder mystery. My hope is that it's a randomised puzzle every time you play in which you have to solve the murder and then find a way to kill the culprit.

There was a level in Patient Zero which included random elements like that but they never really built on it so I'm hoping this is it.

Hitman GOTY and Hitman 2 Gold are £6.99 and £9.99 on CD Keys now.

Also if you're interested in Stadia they both come free with Stadia Pro, and you can do a free trial month of Stadia Pro.

I am currently going through Hitman 2 via Stadia and loving it.

Looking very impressive, yes it's more of the same but the gameplay is perfection.

Aren't we getting a Cloud version on Switch as well?

IOI have just announced that anyone who has Hitman 1 and 2 on Steam will need to pay extra to play the HItman 1 and 2 levels in Hitman 3. It's free on consoles but Epic are kiboshing it for PC. Probably be free when Hitman 3 is inevitably released on Steam.

You'll be able to transfer over your unlocked items for free though.

If one has bought the legacy pack to get the Hitman 1 levels on Hitman 2, does that allow them to cross over to the third, or would one need to buy a new legacy pack?

That's a lot of useful information that I wasn't expecting to be compiled. Then again, I guess it makes sense for it to be done. It has answered what I wanted to know, so thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I own Hitman 1 on disc and played it on my PS4. My girlfriend bought Hitman 2 digitally and I played it on her PS4 with my PSN account. I will be buying Hitman 3 on disc. Even with all that detail I'm not sure if I can unlock the previous game content in 3 without paying for it again  A little frustrating that the install will be so big because those previous 2 games are included but I can understand why they've done it. It will be annoying though to have content I own taking up space on my hard drive but being inaccessible!

I won't carry over progression though. I didn't with Hitman 2 and I think it was better for it - starting with a limited loadout and unlocking stuff as I went rather than immediately having things like an unbreakable lockpick or electronic hackers.

I saw an article on PC Gamer explaining that the total file size would actually be smaller than Hitman 2 was because of new compression techniques they've used.

I'm just going to wait and see what data carries over next week. So long as I have all the levels, I'll be happy. Starting with a fresh loadout wouldn't be so bad.

New Stadia feature State Share allows you to share playable snippets, this feature was listed in a PlayStation patent but has yet to launch on PS5.

'We're excited to announce that State Share, the newest Stadia Enhanced Feature, is launching on January 20th. Capture a playable slice of a game & share it instantly with friends to try for themselves'

I'm pretty peeved at the last minute change for PC having to rebuy Hitman 2 content. After being assured that it would be available even when moving across from Steam to Epic this feels like a kick in the teeth.

Of course, the reason I will be getting this is for the new levels primarily so it won't effect my purchase.

Disappointed but not surprised by Epic blocking the carry over of Steam versions.

I was planning to hold out until we knew more about VR coming to PC anyway, but I guess I'll be waiting for this to come to Steam as well now.

This was one of the more interesting features from the original Stadia announcement way back in March 2019, glad it's finally turning up and this feels like a great game to showcase it

Hitman 2 expansion pass is £6.50 on PSN now - worth it? Thought we'd get the DLC locations with a Hitman 3 upgrade but apparently not.

Enjoyed the sniper mode, reminds me of silent scope a bit.
