Yeah this might potentially be a purchase for me this year if the Switch version is really good.

Ah, yes. First there was resetting for Pokémon natures, and now we've got resetting for the correct sorting choice.

Will maybe get this second hand while donating an equal amount to Mermaids.

I think I'm in the same boat as your partner - grew up loving Harry Potter and being super excited for the books, films etc, but I can't give my money to any endeavour that will lead to profit for JK Rowling. I may go down the route of buying second hand at some point, but I also don't want to advertise the game in any way, shape or form so I'll keep it well away from socials, this place and Twitch if I do.

I think it'll be a massive hit, the game looks great.

I think the idea of buying second hand/donating to a trans charity is a good one for those who want the game.

I don't think you or anyone else should be made to feel like they're doing something wrong by spreading positive word about this game. Rowling's stage obviously needs to be dismantled - if only the corporations providing that platform had a better nature to appeal to, they would've done so already - but I've always maintained the opinion that not everything and everyone with the slightest affiliation with her IP need come crashing down with it.

On the other hand, I understand how using this game as an opportunity to spread awareness of the suffering she's caused is beneficial, but I'd be opposed to making someone feel morally corrupt for leaving a simple like on the State of Play video or wishing the devs some level of success...if indeed that's how far some people are prepared to go.

Watched the footage for this just now, looks like it could be annoyingly good. Maybe one to buy in the future when it’s on a ridiculous discount or buy second hand down the line.

Hold on there was a goblin rebellion in the HP universe? The ones who run Gringotts?

This is the same universe where people would just gooseberry fool on the floor and magic it away and where the Hogwarts Express trolley lady is actually a psychopathic T-1000.

A goblin rebellion is mundanely believable by comparison.

The Goblin Rebellions were a series of rebellions in which the goblin population of the wizarding world revolted against discrimination and prejudice toward their kind by wizards and witches. They were most prevalent during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but even in modern times, there were subversive goblin groups working in secret against the British Ministry of Magic, according to the Daily Prophet. The historical rebellions had been described as "bloody and vicious".

Oof, this is going to go down the "shut up about the House Elves, Hermione!" route isn't it? :dread:

Ah, so in this story, the hook-nosed goblins who run the banks are revealed to be secretly conspiring to undermine society? Classic Jo.

They are called "WeAreFairCop" but used the hashtag "#sayyestohate".

A lovely sounding bunch.
