This really gets to the meat of it

Once he [releases his next video], the views on his channel will skyrocket, thanks to both his supporters and people who are morbidly curious. The algorithm will reward him for it and he’ll get back to putting out videos about why he hates Brie Larson or some other asinine gooseberry fool. Along with people like Shapiro, he will become another cog in the hate machine on YouTube, his videos revolving around the algorithm and reinforcing the beliefs of people who already watch similar tosh. Either that or he’ll go the crowdfunding route and promise to lead development on a game “free of politics”, and the suckers will eat it up. If he was being assigned to a Hogwarts house, it would be Griftindor.

I don’t think the banana split deserves the benefit of the doubt, but the jaded, matter-of-fact declaration of “what happens next” while name dropping Brie Larson and Shapiro just feels juvenile.

Like, I think that if their stance is that people on the left:
a) are closed-minded towards opinions outside of their own “woke” ideals
b) have a tribal, binary mindset towards the people who express those opinions (“you’re either with us or against us”)

...then tripping over yourself to say “here’s exactly what this strawberry floaters video will say and here’s how it will work out for him” and declare that any strawberry floating goober who likes to trigger lefties = Ben Shapiro, does nothing but prove them right in this regard.

Cathartic as I’m sure it was to write.

I don't think he needs to hold a tin can to beg for pennies, his positive comments towards Warner Bros. and them having no grounds to fire him means he likely received a massive payoff.

Kirk McKeand has been a constant target of The Quartering and his minions so there's definitely some frustration ekeing out here. But it's entirely justified, given the fact this guy was liking and retweeting Jack Posobiec and other far right figures as recently as last week. And let's face it...he's bang on. This twat is undoubtedly going to double down and reap the monetisation benefits.

People get mardy when the media fails to hold people to account...this is what that actually looks like.

Monetisation isn't pennies. It's power and a career. And there's no strawberry floating way he got a payoff.

I agree. But aid like to add: Trans identity needs to be handled like Apex handles it's LGBT+ characters, their gender/sexually is a part of who they are but it doesn't define them.

The fact that someone is queer or trans shouldn't be the main point of their story for example. Most queer and trans people have gone through their own struggles, I highly doubt they want to see themselves represented simply by their difficulties and trauma.

I cannot think of a single trans character in a game who's transness isn't used as a story prop (apart from Poison from Street Fighter but it's debatable if that's actually canon)

It would be nice to have more characters like Bloodhound or Gibraltar who's gender and sexually are just part of who they are rather than being part of some tragic story beat. Hopefully apex will have a Trans character soon too

The only way they're going to salvage some of the backlash from this game is if they make a main story character trans and consult with trans people on how they should be represented.

Like you've said, allowing a mishmash of body parts isn't going to cut it.

Coming ‘Holidays 2022’. Really feel bad for the poisoned chalice the devs have been handed. Even as a passive fan of the series, it looks very lovingly crafted.

This looks good, reminds me of Fable in parts, not one I’ll grab day one but I’d grab it on sale. Sounds like the devs have put a lot of effort into this so I really hope for them this does really well.

It looks so lovingly crafted. It looks as though they are doing their absolute best for this game. This is the kind of Hogwarts I would have loved to see during EA's reign.

Thought it looked quite cool. It’s clearly absolutely dripping in budget too, it looks gorgeous. Despite being a fan as a kid though, ever since the films there always been something about the world of Harry Potter that I’ve found off putting. Keen to see some previews of it.

After watching that, I'm going to be tremendously disappointed that it's not Bully in the Harry Potter universe. That would have been amazing.

My partner is a big HP fan that is very anti JK Rowling (as am I, just without the HP fan bit).
