This year Ill get 22 days plus public holidays. For every year of service I get an extra day upto a maximum of 25 so in a couple of years Ill have 25 days plus public holidays. They also have a scheme here where you get a once off 20 day bonus after 5 years of service so the year after my holidays go up to 25 Ill get 45 days off and the year after it will come back down to 25 and stay at 25 from then on.

That's a nice little bonus, even if it is only a one off.

A couple of years back I had to travel to Australia for a week with work, because of all the travel and doing a bunch of overtime whilst I was out there they ended up giving a whole bunch of extra days off that year. I think I ended up with about 38 days!

It was brilliant to be able to just take some bonus time to myself either to do something specific, spend extra time with the kids, or just because I knew everyone else was going to be out of the house and so I could sit around playing games all day for a break!

I get 28 days at the start of January, work 4 days a week so 7 weeks worth to take throughout the year. use the odd day or 2 for birthdays with my daughter and partner, luckily the missus' birthday is the day before mine. The rest just get spread for school holidays/half terms/Christmas and days when she's off school sick. I get 6 months full pay with sick leave before it goes to half pay so don't really need to worry about using holidays when I'm sick.

I've got 39 days this year.

This is due to long service and the level I'm on. We also close at Christmas, so I get another 5 days on top of that.

36.5 days this year, including Bank Holidays. I always struggle to use it all though and end up carrying some over into the following year.

I’m effectively zero hours at the moment, so we get paid the standard 5.6 weeks equivulant. Except, working when I want means I don’t need to book a half day for the dentist, or take a Friday/Monday for a weekend break. So I seem to be accruing a good amount of paid leave days. I normally just combine the lot and take a month off work for something big and brilliant.

This year it'll be 29 + bank holidays + a week or so off over Xmas/New Year, but that includes 5 days that I've carried over.

25 days plus bank holidays. You can also buy up to 5 extra days which we'll be definitely doing next year.

I could never live in America where they get a few weeks on average. They fully expect employees to devote their lives to their jobs but can sack them on a whim for pretty much whatever they want. Greatest country on Earth though....

I work a ton though, generally do very long hours. Just don't post as much about the boring stuff.

This just makes me realize I never take vacation days for myself.

The only time I ever take time off is when others have asked me to go somewhere, like when I went to Japan to visit my wife's family.

I blame this on having grown up poor and basically thinking I can't do x because I need to save/make money.
