I get 13 weeks off and also bank holidays if they don't fall within the 13 allocated weeks.

I could never live in America where they get a few weeks on average. They fully expect employees to devote their lives to their jobs but can sack them on a whim for pretty much whatever they want. Greatest country on Earth though....

With the US there's also a whole lot of peer pressure to not be seen as letting the side down by not being at work constantly and they've been brought up to believe in this whole US work ethic idea where if you do take holiday you're seen as lazy and selfish.
