This topic is inspired by the talk in the US politics topic about holiday entitlement.

How much do you get and have you ever considered not taking it all?
I always fully use my holiday (I get 26 days plus bank holidays now) and I plan to buy 3 extra days next year under a new scheme we have. I don't feel bad about taking it all and I don't feel anyone should be pressured into not taking holidays.

So, how much holiday do you get and have you ever felt under pressure to not take all the holiday you're entitled to?
I think it may be a mainly American thing to feel like you can't take a decent break from work or you'll not get a pay rise at the end of the year or just never get promoted because you're seen as lazy and uncommitted.

25 days (although as I work condensed hours I get 20 condensed days) plus bank holidays.

Everyone should always be using all their holiday, why wouldn't you?

Can't wait until Laga gets here.

There were rumours that our company was going to bring in the option to buy and sell leave but the trail's been cold for a while now, so it's probably been binned. :(

Now that work have stopped 4 on 4 off shifts and put everyone on Monday-Friday my time off has been drastically reduced :(
Now I only get 41 days including Bank Holidays (The only ones we have to take off are Christmas Day/Boxing Day/New Years Day though, the rest I can choose to work if I want). It should go up to 42 in the middle of this year though, then 43 next year :toot:

40 days including bank holidays, although each year I take extra days for free because they just don't get recorded (I see my line manager once a week) and I've even had previous line managers just tell me to take extra time off, probably because I work longer days than I should all the time.

25 days plus bank holidays, though I have to work some bank holidays (eg last year I had to work on two days where I had annual leave, and on Easter Monday due to it being the first of April / New FY). Those I just transfer for other days, I don't really worry too much about it tbh.

Where I work you start with 25 days plus bank holidays then increase to 30 plus bank holidays after 10 years of service, that’s where I am now. Although due to the nature of my contract I never work weekends unless I choose to.

Since I moved to our contact centre I occasionally have to work bank holidays as surprisingly enough Civil Service contact centres are open bank holidays just with limited cover.

I get my annual leave allocation in October and tend to waste most of it between then and December leaving me very little for the rest of the year although I do have flexible working hours so I can build up time if I want more time off.

6 weeks. Depending on how public holidays fall I almost always have to pay back time for bank holidays and I take that out out of my annual leave rather than work the time back. I don't always use all my leave but we are allowed to take a week over into the next year.

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

I get 25 days leave plus bank holidays. We have the option to buy or sell up to 5 days of leave each year which I take advantage of to give myself 30 days.

Annoyingly the company used to up people's annual leave allowance to 30 days after a certain length of service but they did away with that policy just as I was closing in on qualifying for it! :x

What the gooseberry fool man, some of you get loads.

I get 23 plus I think 8 BH, always use them all of course. Try to do exciting stuff with them rather than just chilling.
