You need to contribute 3,000 to get a mask fragment.

Oh God. Because the original wasn’t hard enough.

All over this like a maggot on Infection.

Instantly to the top of my most wanted list. The video makes it look fairly close to final. Hopefully a 2019 release.

Thanks to the incredible support of players and Kickstarter backers, what started out as a tiny game jam idea has become a game bought and played by over 2.8 million people!

As a backer, your support made this happen, so you’ll of course be receiving your copy of Hollow Knight: Silksong 100% free.

Hollow Knight: Silksong PC (Windows, Mac & Linux) copies will be supplied as both a Steam Key and a DRM free version.

I’m looking forward to Team Cherry becoming a Triple-A developer and instantly forgetting all this generosity. Instant soul refill for 50p! Charm-filled lootboxes! Save Cloth from death for £2!

Cool. I hope I don't loose interest right at the end because they decide to put the best ending behind obscure side content.

Started the main game a while ago, really can’t get into it and enjoy it.

I’ve managed to get the map and get a quill and found a chamber with some mush called the false knight that destroys me in seconds.

What am I missing as I just don’t see the fun in that game.

I felt the same way for a very long time. I was kindly gifted the game on Steam and it took me *months* to get into it (after it hit the sales on PS4!) to finally see its charms. 73 hours later...

I think besting the False Knight was what finally did it, but beating the giant maggot mini boss thing (its attacks by bouncing across the screen by hitting the floor and ceiling) also helped. So yeah, all I can say is stick with it and see how you like it. I know the False Knight seems impossible right now, but he is totally beatable as you currently are.

Marmu? If so, it’s not a maggot! It is, I believe, a puss moth caterpillar and I won’t hear a word said against it. It is my darling baby. Or would be if it wasn’t dead.

This thread gives glowing praise, so I was already pretty sure I’d like the game, but that was definitely when it clicked. Beating the false knight provides a glimpse into the depth of the combat system, so that what seems hard now will soon be child’s play.

Definitely getting the sequel.

Marmu was a hilarious fight. This thing scared the crap out of me given the Knight's lack of mobility early on. Its name doesn't appear on screen, and it's definitely fought in Forgotten Crossroads.

Edit: This thing Image the Gruz Mother.

Oh and, it isn't obvious early on but charms and various abilities and upgrades will make traversal and combat far more varied and interesting than they are initially. (Well it wasn't obvious to me anyway as I went into the game unaware of most of it.)

It might just not be for you tbf. Are you a metroidvania fan in general? Do you like hunting out and piecing together lore? Do you get much out of challenging combat?

Not really sure what metrovania is. I don’t mind find things and piecing stuff together but I do get nearly at having very little direction and having to go over the same areas and memories routes and things.

The combat is quite good fun so far, other than get print smashed to gooseberry fool by false knight but I think I’d do better second time.

He saving at a bench thing is annoying as hell as is the beasties reappearing oh and what the hell is with the money after a death bullshit.

I do get the feeling it isn’t for me, it just feels like I’m trying to find a reason to like it and even this stuff I was checking YouTube to find what I was meant to do as the game give next to strawberry float all.
