Can't remember what my % completion was, wasn't as high as 74% though

I'm more than happy to wait for Silksong rather than going back to finish it off fully as I think I'd just get frustrated with myself.

Had a little play around with this again to get footage for someone's video, and found the courage to return to the grubfather after rescuing all the grubs to see what the fuss was about. It's actually not as bad as people make it out to be. At first I was shocked and assumed the worst, but it appears to be the natural next step for the grubs for their metamorphosis. The grubfather seems to be acting as a cocoon.

Having real issues with the Watcher Knights. This boss is a total clusterfuck. Seems completely at odds with the other ones.

They are by far the worst bit of the game in my opinion, just on the slim chance you don’t know You can kill one before the fight starts by going to a room above the boss room and cutting a chandelier down onto one of them, as I said you’ve probably done this already but thought I’d mention it!.

If its any consolation it didn’t improve my chances much  Still took a lot of tries before I finally beat them.

That is extremely helpful Robbo. Thank you.

Gave up eventually with the hope that I could beat them after some upgrades. Did some exploring, beat Hornet again, killed Dung Defender and some thing that shoots orange crap and had claws. I found the Mantis Lords (which I haven't beaten yet). Just made it to the Hive.

Absolutely love this. I have some small gripes with it, but it's such a high quality experience overall. I spent most of last weekend playing it, and I haven't really put it down today.

Mantis Lords was my favourite boss fight of the game, amazing music to go with it too. Overall it is a fantastic game though, even with the lower moments such as the Watcher Knights, I’m just kind of hoping there won’t be a boss similar to the Watcher Knights in Silksong, or if there is the save bench (or whatever you save on in that) is right next door to it.

Thought most people would know the trick behind the Watcher Knights as it comes up quite quick on google when you’re looking for tips!

Watcher Knights is fine. I think the boss I struggled with most was Grey Prince Zote, though I haven't finished the last DLC yet.

I’m yet to attempt any of the DLC, just don’t think I’d get very far as isn’t it essentially just the pantheon of gods? A harder boss rush type thing?

Got the Watcher Knights. Funnily enough, I didn't even have a full soul tank for the fight, I died quite far away and didn't retrieve my spirit thing, decided to go for it anyway. It's not too bad once you spot the attack windows. Still a bit of clusterfuck at times.

I appear to be at the last boss now, after doing all the dreamers. Jesus, I nearly played that the game all day

I'm so lost in this already. Beat Hornet earlier today and have just spent the last hour or so trying to get 1800 coins to buy a lantern and I'm still only at 800 coins. Feels like the only thing I can do to progress is to get the lantern to illuminate a couple of dark corridors I've found.

It's a really lovely game and I think it's great but being lost and farming for coins is starting to frustrate me.

Bloodstained is still the king of this genre.

Watcher Knights were tricky and took a few goes but it was never a fight where I felt cheated at all.

Can’t remember what point this is, but have you got any items you could sell to raise the funds?

If I've found someone I can sell items too, I've already either forgotten them or hadn't realised I could sell anything. Oops :fp:

I'll head back to the main shop next time I play and see if I can sell stuff.

I played the first 20 minutes of this and it seemed incredibly simple.

Definitely didn't make a good impression. Does it pick up later on? And if so in what way?

It's definitely not simple. It being a metroidvania you obviously unlock more and more abilities as you go. The game is known for its tough boss fights, you may have just done the first boss in the first 20 minutes? Consider its like 40 hours worth of content.

Guacamelee 2 is in your sig - they are quite similar in some ways. Same genre, both combat focused, both with optional tough platforming.
