That Paris reference this week.

I enjoyed the episode but man is there some stupid gooseberry fool going on.

The Paris line was so clearly ADR'd. When they say things off-screen it's usually a dead giveaway.

Too right about the dumb gooseberry fool, though. Why did all the terrorists leave Quinn? It makes no sense whatsoever. The leader guy mentioned that he knew he was still alive, and they know that he knows all this secret gooseberry fool so they just leave him there to be found? :fp: And what a coincidence that it was Carrie that found him. I swear all of the major plot points this season have been the result of pure coincidences. It's beyond ridiculous. I won't even get into the stupidity of what's going on with Saul, Dar and Alison.

This season's probably been the second worst to date, which is a shame because it started so well, and the episode before last was really good. This week's had some strong moments - Carrie and Astrid watching the video, Saul going postal - but it keeps contriving situations where characters do stupid or unlikely things purely to serve the needs of the plot.

The fuckery with Alison this week :fp:  Can't they easily tell if a gunshot wound has been self-inflicted? And what the strawberry float was that doctor doing screaming at Quinn like that? I burst out laughing at that scene.

Halfway decent episode, otherwise.

When I heard it I was shocked. Not because I thought it inappropriate but because, I figured, the series had completed filming before the attack. Then I wondered if they were referring to the Charlie Hebdo attack. But it is topical and relevant and it made sense. Dubbing, ala EastEnders World Cup score results, would explain things.

But I did enjoy this new episode - E11. The nonsense with Alison, i predicted she would kill her guard the minute he said he didn't believe what was being said about her! the tension was mounting up by the end of the episode cliffhanger.

I guess this is for next week's episode, like your last post was (UK pace).

Great.

Not that I really give a gooseberry fool, Homeland has been complete bollocks since the start of season 2.

More spectacular stupidity this week. Why the hell would Saul trust Allison's info about the attack location over Carrie's? And of course the second Saul does start picking apart her story, he's interrupted. And shocker, she's somehow gone when he realises she's duped them all. Yet again. And using no signal to create suspense? Really? strawberry floating awful.

I'm not really one to nitpick shows like this as a certain amount of believability leeway has to be expected but I'm finding it incredibly hard to continue suspending my disbelief when gooseberry fool like this keeps happening.

Season 5 finale thoughts ahead:

Well that was a wonderful 45 minutes of Carrie moping around and not much happening sandwiched between an interesting opening and closing 5 minutes. Not gonna deny that I skipped forward through most of it. At least Alison got her comeuppance.

The strawberry floating religious gooseberry fool  So bad! Can't believe they ruined a great character like Quinn with this terrible plot.

What a strawberry floating awful season. I think this is gonna suffer the same affliction as Dexter in that it had a great first 4 seasons and just pure muck after that.

A barely ok finale. Good start but then not much went on. Left it very open for next season for Carrie's next move & whether Quinn dies.

‘Homeland’ Nears Renewal For Seasons 7 & 8, Season 6 Debut Pushed To January

Showtime is finalizing a deal with Fox 21 TV Studios to lock its flagship drama series Homeland for 3 more seasons, starting with the already picked up upcoming sixth season, whose premiere has been pushed to January 2017.

After she thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, season six picks up several months later and finds Carrie Mathison (Danes) back on American soil, living in Brooklyn, NY. She has begun working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the United States. Season six will tackle the after effects of the U.S. presidential election, with the entire season taking place between election day and the inauguration. It’s a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect.

6x01- The big problem with previous seasons is that Quinn wasn't a crack addict so I'm glad they've fixed that.

Due to Homeland being off last week in the US it seems like tonights episode on Channel 4 is the world premiere.

Been a poor season so far.
