This sounds good to me. I've always liked the idea of the Link who lost, who was pushed towards fighting Ganon because they were the destined hero, but who simply couldn't overcome Ganon's strength. I always pictured it fitting into a pre-Wind Waker setting, with Zelda or Link sacrificing themselves to cause the rain to fall. Not a victory per se, but enough to keep the world alive.

As you say though, bit dark.

They don’t lose a battle to Ganon. Link collapses defending Zelda on Blatchery Plain before being taken to the Shrine of Resurrection. Zelda then goes to the Castle and contains Ganon there.

BoTW but a different map or alternative setting like the GameBoy Games, Termina, plus more enemy variety, underground areas, caves, swimming/underwater and "proper" dungeons AND shrines. The approach to sidequests and most other things in BotW was fine.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Nah I'm pretty tired of that after ocarina of time, ALTTP, ALBW, oracle of ages, oracle of seasons and loads of other Nintendo games.

Make the regular world 2D and the mirror world 3D

Imagine that the first time it happens when you thought you were playing a 2D Zelda

That’s bloody genius.

Just don’t wait until you’re halfway through the game to introduce the other world (looking at you, The Messenger).

Love it, kind of like the wizard of Oz being black and white for ages and then suddenly colour.

Shame the internet would ruin the suprise within seconds of any footage being shown.
