Turning off all the HUD elements and objective markers has made it a much more interesting game to play and actually helped to make me feel part of what is actually a really fantastic world that they have created.
I thought the story was actually fantastic..
Maybe it gets better...
The fragmented way I've played the game probably doesn't help, I've been on and off with it for over a year now so the narrative hasn't exactly been at the forefront of my mind!
It really grabbed me about a third of the way in, in my opinion it's top tier, for a video game.
Ah nice. I'm not entirely sure how far in I actually am at this point. I've explored the whole map but I haven't really progressed the story beyond the point of first reaching Meridian.
How are you getting on with ZD, story grabbed you yet?
I'm really enjoying the game, the story is warming up a bit - it's still broadly trading the path I expected of it but it's enjoyable following the breadcrumb trail of the past!
Mainly I've found that turning off all of the HUD elements and just setting myself loose on the world to explore and hunt things down without all the clutter of objective markers and icons has made the game a really nice experience. Just picking a direction or interesting piece of geography and heading out to see what it brings is great. Right now I've set myself the quest of getting all the resources I need to trade for all of the best "purple" class weapons, tracking down and looting wildlife and machines to find the stuff I need has been a lot of fun
