I recently watched a terrific little British horror called The Borderlands which is a found footage film (I know, but still) about paranormal investigators who, erm, investigate a supposed miracle in a church in the middle of nowhere. It's really great, it is. Most effective horror I've seen in years.

My wife has always got me watching horror films.

Insidious and Sinister 1&2 are probably the best ones I've seen in recent years.

The Bunnyman and Killing of Jacob Marr are 2 laughably bad films that I'd be surprised if anyone else has seen.

Needle, Hush, The Invitation, I don't imagine are not very well known but were decent enough.

I thought that was decent. The Lovecraftian ending was... unexpected :lol:

but the film was enjoyable.

Yup, I've seen that as well. Quite good! A bit odd at the end, but I have my own theory on that (the girl I was seeing at the time didn't have a Scooby what was going on!!!! :lol:

The Conjuring, well both of them, are pretty decent movies. The second covers the Enfield hauntings, the biggest ghost story to come out the UK from the 70's

Seen the first one. Yes, it's quite good. Annabelle is the spin off to that isn't? Loose track of them all!

The second one does look good. Will watch that as soon as it's on Amazon Instant. There was a TV series about the Enfield Hauntings on, I think it was early this year, which was worth watching.

That's a shame. Have you seen Lords of Salem? He did that before 31, it's low budget too. Creepy in part but poor in others.

Anyone seen The Witch? Downloaded it but haven't seen it yet but heard good things!

The misses and I have an agreement where we watch a scary movie every Halloween. She hates scary movies so I cherish this time of year as it's the only time I can force her to watch one. This year we're watching two since we were on different continents on Halloween last year and she owes me one. :nod:

The year before last we watched The Thing, year before that it was Alien and on our first Halloween we watched Session 9, a personal favourite of mine.

This year I think I'm gonna go for the original John Carpenter's Halloween and then something more recent, maybe It Follows which I really liked.

Yeah watched it a couple of months ago. I loved it, it's a very eerie film. The setting is brilliant but it's very dark and depressing, it just has a very different feel to it than most horror films. The only bit some might not like is the language, it's set in 1600's New England and keeps to the traditional language along with a few strong english accents but i think it added to the whole style. Also the two main actors were both in Game of Thrones.

I'll give that a watch tonight

Southbound is worth a watch for people who want a film that keeps you questioning what's going on etc.

It's exactly what I want. It's why I love Session 9 & The Orphanage so much, all atmosphere.

Watched Friend Request this week . Forgot to say about that one, quite a good film. More mainstream type stuff but good fun just don't expect anything different. I did also watch The Boy. again another mainstream horror but it has a few interesting things go on and it does have Lauren Cohan in it who is always good to watch :datass:

Oh and you all need to see Krampus if you haven't yet, done by the people who did Trick R Treat
