I started World of Horror recently having seen so many glowing reviews and...it's a weird one. It's obviously super well done, and the bits of the stories I was seeing were really my gooseberry fool, but it's based on super old adventure games from the early 80s, clunky UI and all. And I have no tolerance for that gooseberry fool. That style of game was before my time and so I have no nostalgia for them, and although I'm sure this version of that interface style is in fact much more convenient, it's still very crunchy.

Which is a shame, as the stories behind it all are all Junji Ito-esque tales that I'm sure I'd love.

I might finally get around to playing Dead Space this year around Halloween. Think I've been saying that for about 3 years now, but this could finally be the year. :toot:

There’s a new instalment from the makers of “Man of Medan” out on the 30th October, called “Little Hope.”

That will be my Halloween game and the final game I will be playing on the PSS4.

Also on the PS5 launch, there’s “Observer.” Which is the same game as before but with improved graphics and effects.

I have been closely watching this one. Hopefully it will come to Xbox soon via Game Pass (i think its still early access?). I dont have a PC capable of running it, unfortunately.

My wife and I are going to start playing Until Dawn together for "spooky season". I've also just played Resident Evil and have Amnesia downloaded. :dread:

My girlfriend and I played Until Dawn together last Halloween. Part way through the evening a picture fell off the wall behind us with an almighty crash onto the floor - made us jump so much we had to stop the game. Might try again this year.

I started Maid of Sker the other day, so that’s an appropriate one to be playing tonight. Only problem is that it’s a bit ropey on the XB1S (and not helped by the fact I’m playing it straight after the super-slick Spider-Man on PS4 Pro). It’s X enhanced, so I should probably have left it until I’ve got the Series X.

I’ve also just bought Stories Untold, so that will get played today too.

I've actually played a lot of horror this month. Started Alien Isolation this morning but I've completed the entire Amnesia series (including the new one), Until Dawn, REmake, 3make and Last of Us (kind of horror).

Forgot how good Alien actually was but, strawberry float me, if the checkpoints aren't punishing.

I just finished it (Maid of Sker) the other day on 1X. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.

I searched for it by title and noticed you’d posted about it in the Completed thread, but I clicked away, just in case of any minor spoilers! Yeah, I’m not expecting anything too great, but it’s tense enough. I assume from the number of collectibles that I’ve already found, it’s not a very long game?

Your assumption is a accurate. Prepare yourself for some potential frustration (difficulty related, not obtuse puzzling). You may be well be better at it than me though, in which case you will probably have a better time. My major downer with it was load times when you die.

I've just finished my second playthrough of Blair Witch to get the pacifist achievement and the good ending. I don't understand why they linked collecting the collectables with the bad end :slol:

Best part of the game was the halloween chalk for the dog. The best boi :toot:

Was quite pleased to find Silent Hill HD Collection for £6.24 on the Xbox store (I know people have stong feelings on it) as I was specifically going to hunt out PS2 to play it.

Been enjoying some Blair Witch and Man of Medan tonight with the Mrs, joys of Game Pass.

Little Hope is slightly better than Man of Medan’s story.

It’s more of the same. And no, it’s not any better than Until Dawn. Nothing will be, I suspect.

I haven't tried Little Hope yet. I might pick it up when I'm done with Man of Medan though. Or wait until Little Hope comes to Gamepass.
