We went back to Luigi's mansion 3 last night to find some of the gems. Such a lovely looking game.

Only problem is that it’s a bit ropey on the XB1S (and not helped by the fact I’m playing it straight after the super-slick Spider-Man on PS4 Pro). It’s X enhanced, so I should probably have left it until I’ve got the Series X.

I’ve also just bought Stories Untold, so that will get played today too.

I just finished it (Maid of Sker) the other day on 1X. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.

I searched for it by title and noticed you’d posted about it in the Completed thread, but I clicked away, just in case of any minor spoilers! Yeah, I’m not expecting anything too great, but it’s tense enough. I assume from the number of collectibles that I’ve already found, it’s not a very long game?

Your assumption is a accurate. Prepare yourself for some potential frustration (difficulty related, not obtuse puzzling). You may be well be better at it than me though, in which case you will probably have a better time. My major downer with it was load times when you die.

Yeah, the load times are terrible. Hopefully the Series X will work its wonders with that, so I’ve more or less put it on hold until next week.

I saw that visage on gamepass, read the supporting text that says ‘Be mindful that it is a difficult game in unconventional ways. Visage is a first-person psychological horror game.’

Nope, not for me…. Don’t fancy it.

First I've heard of it and that sounds right up my street.

I’ve been replaying Evil Within on stream this week. It’s a decent enough game but I find playing it for long stretches a little stressful so I can only really manage 2 hrs or so at a time.

I've Evil Within 2 sat un-played on my PS4 so I'll probably start that.

It's a good game, but yeah my brief trial with RE7 VR lasted about 20 minutes. Kudos to anyone who can endure it.

I am playing it at the moment. I really think its fantastic. Terrible dialogue but great mechanics.

Think i'm getting near the end now, and with the exception of a few overly tricky boss fights I have "enjoyed" every minute.

That came out in 2019. It feels like yesterday :dread:

Just one of the most incredible games. Dialogue and story are enough to good it together but the actually gameplay I love.

I’ve still got Resident Evil 7 to do, got to the first ‘boss’ battle with Jack? Or someone anyway and it was certainly a nervy experience ending in my death each time

While I enjoyed the first outing I've heard EW2 is the better game.

I have heard that also, but I have enjoyed this one so much I kind of wish that I had started with the first one.

The pacing of EW1 is poor. I remember starting it and barely getting very far as it scared the gooseberry fool out of me and it was very heavy stealth/diologue/story. I put it down, but heard great things and so came back.

It is incredible once you get through the opening 4 chapters or so, a couple of hours. But you need to stick with it, as it then becomes as good as 2 (from what I remember). 2 addresses this by getting on with it.

EW2 is arguably a better place to start because of this. I’d be interested to see people’s views of 1, after playing 2.

I've been streaming Phantasmagoria so far this month. Gonna look at some other FMV games after I finish Dread I think.
