£9.33 for each calendar day that the service is not repaired

:datass:

Yep! First bit might be technically a failure to provide a new service, but after that Open Reach themselves classified it as a fault. Plus they failed to turn up on one occasion, so that adds another £30 or so.

Haha, if they calculate it the same way I have, it's either free full fibre for a year, a PS5 or a Mac Mini.

It'll probably end up being a £5 Argos voucher.

Rinks hasn't posted since and so I can only assume that the engineer was there to turn off his mobile signal.

Here we go. The saga, told via speed test results.

What I used to get on FTTC (“74Mb” account):
Image

End of November - landline incorrectly disconnected, so forced into emergency mobile tethering.
Too traumatised to get a picture, but the DL speed was under 2Mb and disconnected constantly.

Found an EE hotspot close enough and paid for access. This at least allowed me to work, though voice calls were a wreck:
Image

EE hotspot stopped working (got a refund) and got a Three sim - back to mobile tethering, but better than before (much fewer disconnects):
Image

After enduring a month of that, the ISP realised I wasn’t being treated very well and sent me an EE Mi-Fi kit (free for two months). This felt like first getting broadband all over again. Much more tolerable:

57 days after being disconnected, FTTH was finally established. (Photo from Xbox test - wired - to give full justice to the fibre gods):

(Upload test didn’t work because the browser is crap, but it’s capped at a comparatively lowly 100Mb anyway.)
