Quick scanning based on long term lack of promotion/ job changes sounds eminently sensible to me. Quite surprised at the number of people thinking it doesn't.

I always thought it would be the opposite. If I was hiring someone and going to the expense of that whole process I would not hire someone I thought would be constantly looking to jump ship at the first opportunity.

Funnily enough, I was just offered promotion on Friday. This is less than two months after I started another job they gave me last year after making me permanent. If I had known this would come up so soon I would never have bothered a accepting the first job at my current banding. Manager is going to be pissed as they are already short handed and the health trust HR are useless strawberry floaters who take half a year to fill a vacancy. Oh, well, got to look out for number one I suppose.

Current employer about 18 months, was in the same place for 3 years before that, and had a couple of 12 month stints in places before that. Luckily Im in a field where people generally move around a lot so its not a negative to have that kind of churn on my CV. It also means Ive seen the right and wrong way to do things in a bunch of places. Im happy here now though, all going well Ill be here for a long time.

I'm bringing 15 years of unlocked skills, so I guess it is new game plus!
