So either that was one of them, or at least three people got this mod. My guess is that the pool of mods is both quite limited, and also weighted to favour the "weaker" mods (I doubt 3 seer or vigilante mods are given out every turn).

Updated votes:

1 to kill 10 - OrangeRakoon
3 for RNG - Tragic Magic, Moggy, 10

Are you referring to Karl's posts? Because I'm reading those as posts from the gamemaster rather than an anonymous post.

I'll vote to kill 10 just based on Karl's post that a RNG kill will be an inactive tech, and he's the only one who's been selected so far. Happy to consider other options if anyone has any ideas?

I'll lynch Moggy as I don't like RNG and i'm slightly suspicious of his deleted post. Apologies to him if it turns out to be nothing.

The first post was story. The second was a player using the Broadcast nanomod. I'll edit the second post to make that more clear.

Ah. My bad I completely missed that, it's hard to keep track while in work and on your phone

If you saw the deleted post then you know exactly what it was.

Basically I was on my phone and hit “quote” instead of “PM” and asked Karl for my nanomod PM as it was past 12.15. As soon as I hit submit, I realised and deleted the post.

If that is suspicious then feel free to kill me off.

I’d suggest people look at Nun afterwards though.

Updated:

2 to kill 10 - OrangeRakoon, sawyerpip
1 to kill Moggy - Nun
3 for RNG - Tragic Magic, Moggy, 10

Although if everyone could copy-paste this when voting and update accordingly that might be better than relying on me alone :P

I didn't actually see the post honestly, just saw that you'd posted with the subject 'Quiet PM' but it was deleted before I could see it. I was mainly calling you out on it earlier to try and fish for info, seemed a bit of an odd timing for a nanomod based request as I had already got mine and i'm assuming we received them in order of the playerlist so thought it might be a mistaken bot PM or something. I'm definitely clutching at straws, just that I don't like RNG based kills, I always end up arguing against them Day 1 each time we play AYA haha

Edit: @Moggy

I don't like the RNG for reasons previously stated so I picked 10 at random. His new name is pretty machine like so I think I'm onto something B)

How is RNG any different from you picking someone at random?

Edit: just seen the bit about RNG targeting an inactive tech. Sorry!

If RNG will only target inactive techs then we should not be voting for it, as otherwise we don't learn any new information from voting histories and stuff which has always been a key part of tracking down the bad guys in this game.

To clarify that post was made by an anonymous user so isn't 100% fact. I made the same mistake too.

Yes, Karl asked us to send him a “quiet PM” if we hadn’t received our nanomod by 12.15. I didn’t receive mine until 12.25.

I will laugh (aka be strawberry floating furious and never speak to him again) if Karl’s diarrhoea gets me killed. :x

A split vote makes voting history more meaningful, and if a named kill vote hits a bot on day 1 (unlikely) then that voting history is even more valuable.

The RNG targeting an inactive tech was just conjecture by whoever used the anon post nanomod. We have no reason to believe that's how it works (and I'm more inclined to believe it is truly random from the OP).

Fair, on reflection I think i'll retract my lynch on the basis of you at least being an active daytime player and it makes for a boring game if we end up killing off all the people who are active first haha

I was wondering about this and so ran "Howling at the Moon" through an anagram solver. https://anagram-solver.net/howling%20at%20the%20moon

It came back with:

Non RNG votes when we have nothing to go on are suspicious imo, because when we have nothing, it's so easy for an apparently random choice to be influenced by the mafia.

Just wondering what the reason for 10 being up for lynching?

Moggy is up based on what looks like a misunderstanding, but I can't see why 10 is in the running?

It's less of a misunderstanding, moreso just that any straw I can grasp is better than nothing imo
