Ah cool, it's the story part that was cut out of BOTW

looks great, I really enjoyed the previous one so I'll be picking this up.

I wouldn't say it was a bad fit for the original, it was very deliberately made as a celebration of the series in general hence the plot written to link (lol) all of the timelines and characters together. That resulted in a diverse cast of characters and locations befitting a warriors crossover.

Now that already exists, it sort of opens up the opportunity for a game like this without leaving me disappointed in the apparently more limited (but one presumes deeper) focus.

I imagine this will appeal much more to those who put more of a value on the story, so that's cool!

Yep, agree all round.

And the Breath of the Wild setting will definitely get people interested. I'm kinda surprised they didn't use BOTW in the title to be honest.

Yeah I was surprised by that, the more the video went on the more it seemed like this was so heavily tied to BOTW that it was almost doing it a disservice to not make that connection more overt in the naming

Breath of the Wild: Hyrule Warriors feels better from a marketing perspective

Don't think anyone would have guessed a prequel to BOTW would be released before BOTW2...

I really enjoyed Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U so I'm looking forward to this, especially given its setting as a prequel to Breath of the Wild. I'm excited! :toot:

Looking forward to this, I think the core game needs tightening some what, I want to see some genuine improvements, but it has a great setting and I kind of hope it stays open world.

I don't think it'll be open world, I don't see how they'd be able to run a Warriors game like that.

So I understand right, this prequel is not the BOTW2 game that was previously announced?

Reminder that Hyrule, even after the apocalypse, has better healthcare than we do.

Yeah, this is a really cool idea - a prequel to stuff that we've only heard takes of or seen glimpses of, married to a game series that seems well suited to big battles and destruction.

The original is something I've been meaning to pick up for a while, seeing Zelda is probably my favourite Nintendo series, but I've just never seen it cheap enough. Might go looking around the second hand stores here.

Dynasty Warriors 9 was open world

It was, by all accounts, awful

We should really hope this isn't open world

No. It's a Warriors game made by Koei Temco, set 100 years before BOTW.

BOTW2 is still in the works, will probably be a holiday 2021 game if I had to guess.

Holy crap!!!

No words.

Didn't expect this in a million years. One of the best Musou games ever and now it's even better.

Nintendo has this and all stars and I don't need anything else this year.

Wish my image sig would work
