Very cool to have a game announcement that wasn't leaked!

With Cyberpunk competing in the same window, I can't see myself picking this up immediately unless it reviews incredibly. Trusting the Legend of Zelda team to write a compelling plot is a fool's errand.

I thought this was just DLC and not a full game. I wonder who they will add for characters. A Musou game normally has 25+. Or 100+ depending on the series.

They could use the announced characters and then give each one 5 unique weapons. That way it'll boost up the character count.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm ready to make this my first Warriors game I buy (unless I cave and get the first Hyrule Warriors) and I'm sure it will be a good one. I've only played the demo of that first one (on both 3DS and WiiU, I think), and enjoyed my time with it, but I was still on the fence about how much I could get out of a series that - at the time - I still wasn't a great fan of.

Problem is... At almost 16GB, and RCT3 Complete, and The Crown Tundra DLC for PKMN Shield, I need to be removing quite a few games to make room on the card.

They'll go the way of weapons/character variants for sure. Hyrule Warriors already did that, and I'm expecting this to have fewer playable characters. Link, Zelda, Impa, the champions, some number of villains... and then I'm struggling to think.

Makes a lot of sense for them to do this. But a big load of meh to me. Especially if they think I want to hear that voice work again.

Holy gooseberry fool!

Saw the Hyrule Warriors title so didn’t bother looking at this until now but it looks quality. BOTW prequel story too which should be really interesting. Day 1.

The Japanese voice acting with subtitles was great.

Looks like they’ve done a lot of work in rebuilding some of the ruins around Hyrule too!

What’s was the deal with the Warriors games? Are they like arena combat, presumably this wont give you the whole map to play in but rather just drop you in some fields and let you battle away. Is that how the original HW worked?

They are stage based across different maps. Here's one of the in-game maps from the 3DS version for example:

Each map has several keeps across it. Warriors games vary in exact mechanics (and stages always have their own events and specific objectives) but the core is usually capture keeps on your way to the enemy base then defeat the enemy commander to win the stage.

Pretty much yeah.

Hyrule Warriors I found quite button mashy but fun at the same time. This looks like Nintendo are much more involved this time round though so there might other stuff going on. I think Fire Emblem Warriors added some troop commanding and things like that although I haven't played it.

The WiiU version of Hyrule Warriors has you play as a single character per stage, but in the 3DS/Switch releases you can switch characters at will between those active in the stage and order the others around the map, so there is a bit more strategy management rather than frantically sprinting between objectives to stay on top of everything.

I wouldn't be surprised if this goes back to single character per stage though.

I probably still have 1000 hours of content left to get through in HW so I'm good for now.

Ooh, I might have to try the Switch port, then. That was my biggest gripe with the original, and I could never really get on with it.

I was very disappointed with Nintendo’s recent announcements, so this is a nice surprise to get a new game before Christmas.

I wonder how closely this will adhere to the timeline of events laid out in BOTW, Champions DLC and the Creating a Champion lore book.

The trailer seems to show Daruk fighting outside Akkala Citadel but apparently he never went there.

Lore Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

Until such point I'm able to apprieciate the subtleties in a performance of a language I dont understand then it will sadly be lost on me.
