Just down from snowdon on the way to cadair.

Started walking at 5 am and it seemed ok at first, a little drizzly but not too bad. Then we got about a third of the way up and it all went to gooseberry fool. Fuuuuuck me I've never known wind like it - I think it must have been pushing 80+mph with heavy rain, hail and zero visibility. When we got to the summit we couldn't see more than 10ft. It's only when we got near to the bottom that we could see and warm up again.

Thanks. I'm waiting for the other team member's pics before posting a proper update as I only have a photo of the cadair summit on my phone, wheras they have the Snowdon and Pen y Fan ones.

Well done for not falling off the top. Did Snowdon as the final of the Three Peaks challenge last year and it was tough :dread:

Jesus I can imagine :dread: Pen y fan was a joke compared to the rest so a welcome one to end on. The road we live on is steeper than that

 We took a group of 13 year olds up there  Beautiful scenery but definitely the easiest of the three you did! You chose the right order, I think.

Snowdon summit:
:toot:

Cadair Idris summit:
:toot:

Pen y fan summit:

As I said before, the ascent of Snowdon was strawberry floating horrendous. Genuinely frightening conditions for the second half of it and I was fearing we'd get to the top and find nobody there. Luckily there was but visibility was about 5 feet at best so we didn't get any views at all for the effort :simper: We were going to take the Pyg track down but the people organising another 3 peaks event said they were stopping people coming up anything but the easy train track walk as the conditions were so bad :dread: We walked down the train route and avoided death :datass:

Cadair was absolutely stunning. The weather was kind, with a light mist on the way up keeping us cool and then a nice bit of sun on the way back down making for nice photos. It took a long time though (see below) meaning we were late heading to Pen y fan.

Pen y fan was a joke  But people were really flagging by then so a lot of waiting meant we did most of it in the dark and again missed any views :|

We started the whole thing at 5am and finished at 11.45pm :fp:

Overall I really enjoyed doing it, but it took strawberry floating aaaaaaages becuase we were such a small group and had wildly different fitness levels. A few were struggling so much at the start of the second mountain that with all the stopping and waiting for people to catch up, I reckon we lost about 3 hours total. I'd definitely do it again at some point but only if we could be in groups of a similar level, as it's bad enough for those having to wait, but the people struggling must feel like utter gooseberry fool having to play catch up all day. I didn't really know the people I did it with (context) That well at the start but I feel I've made some good friends now :toot:

9/10 would climb again.
