I can’t decide on Adcade for a name. Stellar work though, bro.

Well apart from the screen being the cause of it not powering on (if I disconnect the screen power cable, the rest will turn on so there may be a short somewhere), it's finished :toot:

Attaching the brackets for the marquee and speaker. Luckily I had some hex head screws to use inboard as it got really cramped in there later and a screwdriver wouldn't have fitted.

Attaching the speakers. I'm well chuffed with this as it fits perfectly.

Really cramped in here (add will get worse when the marquee part goes on)

Really snug and neat fitting

So pleased with this

I'll post a video of it in action if I ever get it working again

That looks terrific, Ad - what a great unit! It's a shame that the screen has thrown out a curve ball like that... hopefully you'll soon work out what the problem is, dude.

Very nice.
Currently playing about with my own Pi setup and it's great fun.

I think there's a script for retropie that will hide all the text at boot-up.
Have you looked at any of the filters that would make it look more like a CRT or any of the alternate themes/frontends you can use?

Impressive stuff though Ad. Well done on getting it all put together!

It's the first image I put to the sd card and I never modified it, so I'll be wiping it and starting again, then making an ADCADE splash screen and theme.

Cheers guys. Need to get some arcade games I actually want to play now. Have to find the right romset first I think.

ARcade attacks might help with that. :slol:

[/Shameless plug]

Might be worth looking at attractmode as an alternative front end. Seems a bit more suited to arcade games as well.

Is the light from ADcade not prohibitively bright? Like a mini sun there!

Now to bung it in a corner and never play it :datass:

The edges of the screen look a bit unfinished. Can you put a trim on there to cover it?

Not at all. I've currently got the led coil just dropped in the top. I'll trim it down and have it a it further back soon enough. I intentionally left the white protective film on the back side of the rear acrylic panel to difuse the light.

Hyperion wrote:Now to bung it in a corner and never play it :datass:

Already got a spot in the loft for it :datass: I always knew I'd never really play it much, it's more just something I wanted to do and a fun project.

strawberry float off, I'll finish you in a minute
