Not at all. I've currently got the led coil just dropped in the top. I'll trim it down and have it a it further back soon enough. I intentionally left the white protective film on the back side of the rear acrylic panel to difuse the light.

I'm doing a massive etched window job for a restaurant in a few days, happy to send you a piece of that it's about 56% transmissive and the solvent adhesive will take a little heat no problem (it's good for 7 years..)

Alternatively if you want to colour it and cut it exactly just let me know, only need an SVG, just stick it on the back.

Thanks, but the protective film on the back is good enough for what I need at the moment, and I can sandwich a bit of coloured film or something at some point to change the colour if I want. One thing I do want to do is add some hard wearing vinyl to the sides (the rough black stuff you get on old arcade machines). The sides are picking up more marks than I expected and I'm being really careful with it at the moment, so god knows how grubby they will get when other people use it.

Not sure about a Tolex style finish so I'll look into it but I can get carbon fibre effect which is very nice and generally used to wrap sportscars. It's 125 micron so twice as thick as standard vinyl, it's a cast film so if you could figure out a net or any roundovers you could smooth it over edges as well with a hairdryer for that rounded off look. It's rated for 5 years exterior use so, I'd like to see what kind of abuse it can take.

Of course I'd CAD-cut it, a laser would just melt it.

Cheers, I'm not really into carbon fibre type stuff, tolex type stuff looks ideal.

I can't cut this myself so it would be getting the scalpel out, I could try plotting it anyway provided it doesn't ruin the machine

It's 110u so still thicker than standard stuff.

Sorry for the strawberry floated compression, my tethering is doing it.

Edit: this is silly, I can find denim and snakeskin for wrapping cars but leather you'd have thought would be easy, bloody hipsters

You could also try iron-on PU flex film which does come in leather effects, just layer it flush over the piece and iron over evenly and the adhesive is strong enough to stick to plastic, I know because I've done it by accident. :shifty:

Cast vinyl again:

That's black apparently. But it's £78 per metre  nope nope nope

That's some top level Ryan Friedlinghaus gooseberry fool. Leather Bentleys

I'll see if I can squeeze some of that less insane leather stuff into my intake for science , I'm picking up a continuously variable heatgun from the same distro this week because it's so strawberry floating cold it's freezing my adhesives. :dread:
