It's rubbish. I have all these medicines & none of them do anything. Lemsip is the biggest load of bollocks going, Strepsils work for as long as they are in your mouth (about 5 minutes) & Nurofen Express is supposed to 'target pain fast'. Well it's an hour later & I still have a headache.

The biggest bane of everyone's life, yet they still haven't found a cure...let alone a remedy that actually works.

Get some sleep or sweat it out. Fight through the pain and you'll notice the difference the next day. Also, at the first sign of a cold get on the orange juice like it's going out of fashion.

Of course they have. But don't expect any of the pharmaceutical corporations to make that puppy available any time soon. ;)

Happily, I only seem to get a cold once every couple of years. It's quite remarkable, really. 8-)

Actually, the fact that there is several hundred known protein coats for the virus means that any antigen-targeted cure is incredibly difficult to develop.

This is how Steve cures a cold:

Sudafed Dual Relief & drink hot sugary tea

All this strepsil, lockets and lozenger shite is a waste of money - it doesn't work!

At night, drink some stones ginger wine mixed with whisky. It will knock you out and it's good for your throat.

That's good advice regardless of health. That's an awesome little cocktail to pour yourself when you come home, especially if it's miserable weather outside.

It will certainly warm you up before it knocks you out for a good nights sleep!

There is no money in the cure, only treating it!

that's the same with most cancers / George Carlin!

Nearly everything they sell people to "cure" a cold doesn't work. It's a multi-billion pound annual con job!

Personally speaking the best way to get rid of cold is by helping yourself (fresh air, rest, sleep) and what I said above.

People that spend the day at home with a hot fire are doing strawberry float all to help themselves. Likewise for the muppets that think they are heroes by going to work and spreading their mucky germs around the office.

Couldn't agree more with this. Also handfulls of vitamin c tablets tend to do the same job.

well i've just recovered from bronchitis - been on the antibiotics and everything so "nerrrrr....." ;)

/oneupmanship!

Seriously though KK, I find Sudafed works great at clearing my head - either the Dual Action/Relief or Max ones - whichever take your fancy. Hope you feel better soon. KK

Unlucky KKLEIN, you have my deepest sympathies. Man Flu is serious business. I'll prepare the funeral arrangements, should the worst happen.
