Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes is better than the PS1 original, I know some people hated the new cutscenes but I thought they were great, the graphical improvements were also a welcomed bonus.

Film wise, Kong: Skull Island is miles better than the Peter Jackson King Kong film.

If you mean the 1982 version is better than 1951's The Thing From Another World, I agree. If you mean the 2011 remake then strawberry float right off.

Just thought of another, the Cronenberg version of The Fly.

But why?!?! :?: :?:

I'm not saying it was a bad film, because it clearly wasn't. But what did it do that makes it a step above the many other good, well made, entertaining films that just lack that extra something?

visual spectacle
sound design
music
lack of plot therefore not getting in the way of almost non-stop action

Mad Max 1 is a great revenge film with a low budget, almost feels like a b-movie or exploitation film
MM2 is much better but still has some low-points like how long it takes to actually get going (around the time when Max gets introduced to the settlement and is deciding whether to go get the tanker for them
Fury Road is bascially the tanker chase from the end of 2 but 10x better and for the whole film without it getting boring (somehow)

i mean just watch this in 4K with the sound turned up and tell me theres anything that comes close to this in 1/2/3

bear in mind i am massive fan and saw Fury Road in the cinema 3 times  :fp:

To be fair you picked the one blatantly CG'd part that would have been impossible to do at the time of the originals

In all honesty I really can't remember it all that well - which is one of the reasons why I think it isn't that amazing. In my head though it definitely had sections that I would say were low points - I certainly wouldn't describe it as "almost non-stop action".

It was a fun movie, but at the end of the day I just couldn't shift that niggling feeling that I could have been having more fun watching Waterworld. :slol:

ELO's version of Roll Over Beethoven is somehow better than the original.

Jumanji remake might be better than the original.

I prefer Tron Legacy to the original :shifty:

Some people will say Terminator 2 but some people are wrong.

Aliens 8-)

God of War and Uncharted 4 are better than all the previous games in their series.

The DS lite aftet the abomination of the original.

Post Damien Lewis Homeland is better.
