They're not interchangeable. You don't say "Dave is drived to the pub"

I know language changes, I'm not one of those weird purists, but this particular thing just doesn't make any sense to me.

If people just used it in casual conversation I wouldn't be too bothered, it's the fact it gets used in journalism all the time

'Having a heading or course' is present tense, so saying 'is headed' is fine according to this definition.

That's a definition from an American website though :dread:

Does that page not lost it as the past tense of heading at all?

Is Cambridge good enough?

I officially strawberry floating hate English :fp:

Fade is walked towards a bridge so he can jump off of it.

*jumped

It can be difficult to do that tho, especially when texting.

No because I was using walked in the current tense you see.

Makes perfect sense

It's funny how the proving ground of late 90's text limits created all these shortcuts and abbreviations, most of which died as soon as character limits were lifted, and some stuck around to become part of common chat.

Like, no one still uses '2' to mean 'to' or 'too' (I think it still has some limited application in place of 'two'), but 'u' and 'tho' have stuck around in a lot of places.

Twitter picked up the baton of limited character language abuse which is why a lot of it has stuck around. :dread:

It peaked with 2 Fast 2 Furious, there is just not point trying to live up to that anymore

I don't feel like I often get annoyed by how anyone else speaks or writes. It can be a bit tiring if someone's writing requires a lot of effort to decode, like extreme txtspk (or just being very bad at spelling) sometimes does. But Americanisms, common abbreviations, slang, and accents don't really bother me.
