Someone needs to tell the game UI that then!

Just started this myself, only played up to the end of the first mission (Where you fight the tattooed man outside your house)

I did start this way back when it first came out but never played much past a few hours but I intend to stick with it this time. Liking it so far but I am considering tinkering with the controls and having the face buttons be the attack ones.

I think I'm nearing the end on this now, which I'm kind of grateful for as whilst I'm very glad I persevered with it beyond the opening few hours which didn't really click with me, it does feel a bit like it's outstaying it's welcome now.

I kind of wish it was a bit more of a focused experience, most of the side stuff could be trimmed without losing much of value and the need for every game to have RPG-lite mechanisms which really don't add to the experience is growing very tiresome for this gamer.

Still, when the story beats land and the combat encounters work well it's a very confident and enjoyable game!

When you've finished with it, and just go back to the home.

That's all.

Oh dear god this just keeps on going :dread:

I've just had an incredibly painful QTE fight with Baldur on top of a dragon, how much more is there to go?

Got the part where you meet the World Serpent, did a few side quests, found the 4 spirits around the lake to get the new handle for the axe and got the materials to upgrade it a few times. Also did the side quest in the mines for Brok and found the green ring after fighting the soul eater, will now carry on with the main quest line until I get more upgrades I think.

Really loving this though, I have no idea why I dropped it the first time round but it has its hooks in me now for sure.

Getting Close now. It’s strange that people get bored with this. Hooked start to finish. There are plenty of other games I struggled with and bored me, but this is now one. I struggled with halo infinite, guardians of the galaxy, but not this.

I'm not getting bored necessarily, just feels like there was a natural point where the pacing and structure of the story could have crescendoed but it's still going and I don't feel like I'm getting as much out of it now

My god, how many times is this game going to "fakeout" you getting what/where you need to be only to drop another macguffin fetch quest on you?! :x

No wonder the dead are returning to the world, it's probably too much of a strawberry floating chore just to get into hell!

And done!

I'd give that a solid 8/10, was probably heading for a 9 at one point but it dragged toward the end and the niggles started to get harder to ignore. Still, lots of great things about it and really glad I went back after initially coming close to ditching it early doors.

Think I'll take a break before diving into Ragnarök

Is it best to plow through the story until later in the game and then do the side content? Notice some quests are locked out based on how high the water is etc..

I found myself dipping into the side stuff after each major chapter of the main story was done. There are times when a side quests needs you to have unlocked a certain power before you can do it or like you say when it's blocked by the water level, but those are usually fairly obvious.

I assume you could leave a lot of stuff until near the end if you wanted to, but you do get some nice XP and rewards for doing things as you go as well

Yeah, I’ll continue doing them as I go, saving them might drag out the end.

I’ve got Mimir alongside me now, water level has dropped for the second time and I’m now after a magic chisel. Still very much enjoying it.

Currently at the part where Kratos, Balder and Atreus have all been sucked in Helheim and now we need to escape roughly how far into the main story am I at this point?

And done, wow  genuinely loved that, fantastic game! Loved the setting, the characters and the world and the way the story unraveled. I also went back to the house after it finished and damn, that was a hype ending :datass:

Will get to Ragnarok later this year.
