What negatives? I’m Hoping to clean up all the other realms before finishing the game and, so close to the end, this has been a flawless masterpiece and, in 4K, quite easily the best looking game I’ve ever played...

Um... I've forgotten what they are now  Shows how big a impact they had on the overall game. Hold on, lemme go into my Twitter and see if I can find my whinges.

...

Nope. Maybe the sections where you're carrying the light puzzle crystals? Oh! Now I remember! I felt one of the sections was just pure filler and ruined the pace of the game. I think it may have been the second visit to Helheim.

I gave up on Sigrun and did everything else. Now she’s the only thing (which matters) that I haven’t done.

Just completed this yesterday and what a stunning game it was - full of twists and turns as well as some of the best graphics I have ever seen. The sheer level of detail on kratos is just astounding and proves we do not need another generation for 3 years or so.

What surprised me the most of the length of the game. The other GOW titles have all been 10 hour adventures, but this one was longer and better for it. So many nice ideas and quite a few treats of past GOW fans to enjoy too.

Possibly the best game on the PS4, however Uncharted 4 was similarly enthralling and I expect The Last of Us 2 to be the same. With Spiderman out this Friday, there really is no reason not to own a PS4, infact if you do not have a PS4 you are missing out on 95% of this generations classics!

I feel like Sony are only half way there with must have 90+ Metacritic exclusives

God of War
Uncharted 4
Bloodborne
Horzion Zero Dawn (just missing out with 89)

I think these will be just as well praised by reviewers

Last of Us 2
Death Stranding
Ghost of Tsushima
Dreams

Have you done it yet? I hope so. Took me a good few sessions over a couple of days, but once I did beat her 8-) 8-) 8-) Felt good man.

That the Valkyrie Queen? I killed all the others and spent ages farming materials in Niflheim to improve my armour before getting my ass handed to over and over again so in the end I admitted defeat and turned the difficulty down

Even after I turned the difficulty down to easy, Sigrun took me a good half hour to beat. This game was the first time I properly played around with a photo mode and I'm quite proud of these ones.

SoK, stop showing off! :x (You beat her on GMGoW? Really?)

I gave up in the end - the fight was just too one-sided and I wasn’t even coming close. After weeks of optimization I was utterly unmanned.

Instead, I’ve gone with new game + to maximize armory and resistance (pre IOU’s my only found one Valkyrie damage reduction thingy and it made NO difference).

You know, I’m actually okay with admitting partial defeat - no way am I changing the difficulty! It would be a disservice to myself, the developers and the game (absolutely no aspersion-casting (SugarDave and Saladman, how can you live with yourselves?))...

I honestly cannot remember if I bumped the setting down or not (I do do that when getting my arse kicked over and over) But I was playing on default difficulty setting. She was still a tough ol' fight and I only got the better of her by burning out all my big abilities, etc. There was zero finesse on my part!

Just started with this. The fight with the stranger is amazing. Graphics are stunning as well. Possibly the best I’ve seen this gen.

I love his mannerisms, the performance capture for some of the characters in this is great.

Just cleared the hive of Dark Elves. Absolutely stunning. So hectic and yet just utterly glorious.
strawberry float me - what a game!

It gets better and better. For me the relationship between Atreus and Kratos and how it grows and changes is an incredible piece of story telling and relationship building.

Probably, possibly, my favourite game ever.

Indeed.

More to come though.

Not only is Atreus integral to the story, but also damned handy in a scrap. I can’t think of an NPC character handled as well as he is here, rarely requiring any coaxing to do what (or be where) you want him to. Just be sure to let him catch up a bit before running into a fight!
