Really? LL looks fantastic but I'd put Horizon slightly above that in terms of looks which is stunning in 4k.

I think both Uncharted 4 and God of War are certainly the best looking games this generation, however you have to take into account that Horizon is an open-world game with dynamic clouds and weather systems, that itself makes it more impressive.

Last of Us 2 looks like it'll take the crown next year though

Posting again on new page.

Difficulty

Before starting, a player has to decide how demanding the game should be. ( :o  :o )

God of War’s four difficulty settings includes one that it is so intense that it has a separate save and can’t be changed after the game is started in that mode. It allows players to play the most challenging mode without having to sacrifice to play through the game’s other difficulties, which includes one that is meant to essentially covey the story.

And that fourth, hardest setting isn’t simply an algorithmic increase in difficulty, God of War creative director Cory Barlog says. “We did a ton of stuff to make it a genuine challenge, not a cynical increase. Enemies are all changed up. We changed the attack patterns of things; it’s hugely different.”

The decision to include the easiest setting, which is called Story Mode, was meant to appeal to players who just want to enjoy the world and “not get beat up every two seconds,” Barlog says.

And once players finish the game, no matter what difficulty they’re playing, they can keep playing the game, continue to experience the world that they likely haven’t fully examined.

Definitely gonna give that fourth one a bash. Sounds very interesting indeed. (If what they say is true and hasn't been blown out of proportion.)

I haven't played Horizon yet so I can't pass judgement. I won't play it until I'm done with Far Cry 5 now.

That's a good thing isn't it or would you rather they went all the way Souls?

Did Bloodborne have a difficulty setting which changed enemy placements and attack patterns compared to regular difficulty settings? I didn't explore Chalice dungeons all that much, but those are dungeons not the regular game world.

...

Wait, what the strawberry float am I asking? :slol: A Souls game with difficulty settings :fp:

God mode (the hardest difficulty) is only available after clocking the game the first time in previous GoW’s. Interesting to see that it’s now available from the start. And why not, I guess.

Looks like they're aiming for the Dark Souls crowd with this one so it's a great decision. Considering I only made it to the third boss on Bloodborne I think I'll pass myself.

The previews have really sold me on this, anyone one know the best place to preorder price wise?

ShopTo have it for £44.86 along with DLC, they tend to be pretty good with timely deliveries.

There was a major problem for me: Kratos' signature dual chain-blades didn't feel satisfying to use. I was used to hitting square and seeing a direct correlation to Dante's individual slashes as he cleaved through an enemy. I could see a distinct impact on screen, hear it in my ears, and feel it in my controller. When I hit square with Kratos, I saw a wild flurry of orange and the sound of rattling chains, and there was little sense of impact or contact other than a ticking combo meter. The distant camera only diminished this sensation further, and despite the series' spectacular set pieces, it wasn't what I wanted out of a combat-heavy game.

This was my biggest issue with the previous games, enemies didn't visually respond to attacks, it's like the blade would just go through them.

Love the amount of hit animations enemies now have.
