The Side Quest have been fun so far. Exploring the Lake has taken up most of my hours currently lol. Almost missed entire section too before I was about to move on with the story which came with even more surprises I did not expect. Helps back tracking to check if you have missed any details. You can come across much stronger foes when you go back to certain areas too which threw me off. Taking on a higher level enemy is manageable if you get your parries and movement down but getting ganged up makes makes thing a little tougher. Will have to come back and get my revenge later on >,>

And finished....

Really enjoyable with some epic moments. First boss and final boss are the highlights but the ending of the story is very good and has a lovely and very clever moment.

I don't rate it as high as HZD or Bloodborne but it's still top tier stuff and a joy from start to finish. Loads of post game stuff to do and things to kill.

A very solid game, a sequel will be amazing.

Wish my image sig would work

Quick question about upgrades. At a couple points in the game now, specifically after waking Jormundgandr and returning from Alfheim, I got a buff to the axe. Is this just a flat damage up that's gotten lost in my armour upgrades or did it actually do something specific?

A Buff to the axe, you say? You’ve got a cool dude on your hands there, I think.

Anyone else sit on a bunch of experience points before unlocking several upgrades at once? Feel like learning too many skills can be a bit overwhelming so I wait till I'm more comfortable. Some of the more zoning type attacks feel awesome. Evading into sweeps and heavy punches makes crowd control super satisfying.

I usually bank my upgrades when I hit a shop or an obvious break point, like after clearing out a side-area. It does sometimes lead to the game having to remind me that I have unspent points.

Only picked this up yesterday and played about an hour of it so far.

Just gotten past the Stranger fight, which was ridiculously epic and I had a huge smile on my face for the whole thing. I think I'm going to enjoy this game. :D

Anyone else having any issues with the game and sleep mode? My PS4 has been unresponsive for the last 2 days when waking it from sleep mode in GoW. Needed a reboot on each occasion.

Been fine on mine and my Pro is always on sleep mode with everything I play.

Yup, this is where I got to. Man alive the combat is fun. I've got it set on Hard which is...hard. Very hard. I died about 3 or 4 times during the first (tutorial lol) fight and each encounter is taking a good few goes. The Dark Souls comparisons were not made in error: even though I'm dying all the time I'm still having fun as I know it was me strawberry floating up, not the game being unfair, that got me killed.

Played a bit more or it now and it's reminds me a lot of the new Tomb Raider games.

I love the noise Buff's weapon makes as it slaps meatily into my hand, its hard rod pulsating betwix my fingers, yearning to be unleashed :datass:

I've been saving most of my XP for upgrades for Atreus. None of the Kratos upgrades seem as good.

Yeah I totally agree. I loved the new Tomb Raider games so I consider that a good thing.

I get that having a map free of icons makes discover more rewarding but it's really bloody annoying trying to remember where things are.

Just drained the lake for a second time and went exploring.

Everything hurts so much!
