One thing that has surprised me with this is just how immersive they made the main character given you create them yourself. My kid is also playing this now but his Fenyx is male and it just seems wrong (mine is female). The integration of a custom made character into the cut scenes is really seamless.

New DLC out today, that should be all of them now, I got the season pass with the game so I’ll get stuck into all this extra content now.

Hopefully the 'Drumstick Gold' version won't be too far off.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

There's been a gold edition since launch.

Gold edition to me is entire game on cart (inc. all DLC) at the standard price, as opposed to paying full price at launch for part of the experience and having to pony up more cash later on for the rest.

I've edited my post to indicate the distinction.

I did not expect a top down view mode, seems interesting, season pass was on sale a while ago but I bought Valhalla and destiny 2 dlc instead. so will wait until it gets discounted again.

I kind of want the season pass even though I know for certain that I'll get bored with the main game well before getting to the end.

I can see a game of year edition down the line but I think you'll still need to download the season pass stuff (a la the Assassin's Creed collection titles on Switch). I can't see Ubi ponying up for a high capacity cartridge.

The DLC for this seems quite meaty, downloading the last 2 packs and one is just over 10gb while the other is just under 20gb

Started Myths of the Eastern Realms last night, enjoying it so far, very much the main game with a new skin but as I enjoyed the main game this is right up my street.

Managed to snag a copy of the Switch version for £10 and not a single penny will go to Ubisoft. 8-)

Grabbed this on sale at Amazon for PS5 (£13, thanks jawa and The Bargains Thread :toot: ) and have enjoyed the opening hour or so, but one thing does irritate me - Fenyx's character model seems to float over the floor a lot and doesn't seem as grounded/connected to the floor as, say, Link does in BotW (a fair comparison I feel, seeing as this is trying to be BotW in ancient Greece).

Good fun though, looking forward to exploring the world proper.

Can't say I've noticed any 'floating' of main character at all (on SX). Great game though, can look stunning at times too.

I've probably described it badly, she doesn't float above the ground but it just seems like the character models skims over the surface rather than actually planting each foot with her walking/running animation. Again, I don't feel like I've described it well on this second attempt either  :fp:

I know what you mean. The actual movement speed is at odds with the animation speed. Its a very gamey thing, usually what reviewers would quantify as “weighty” (like Rockstar’s games) vs. “weightless” (like this or a lot of PS2-era character action games), but in reality it’s just prioritising what feels best rather than what looks flawless. The character could move and turn at a speed that looks more realistic but that would feel slower to move around, or the animation could be updated to match the speed they move but then it’s likely the animation would be running so fast that it looks ridiculous. It’s best to try not think about, really. I think Kena Bridge of Spirits does the same thing.

Just finished this. The end of it felt like a bit of a slog. I enjoyed it overall. Hope they do another one.

This turned out to be very true as I gave up about halfway through the third god. Decided to restart again (couldn't be arsed picking up my old save) and have decided to tackle the gods in a different order. So, just done the Athena vault, that was something quite special.
