I think there's a separate conversation around 'DLC in general' and 'day one DLC'. It's the latter that invites the immediate 'urgh' reaction, and I can see why. After all, if it was ready for launch then why wasn't it in the game? The goalposts have shifted slightly for retail games because there's a bit of development time between the game being completed and manufactured and shipped, and day one; but how often is that going to be enough to develop substantial content without crunch?
There is an argument to say that if you've developed one and a half games in that time then you ought to be able to charge one and a half times the cost, and it's why I'm not automatically opposed to paying more for the base price depending on the developer and the game. In this case, though, it's UbiSoft.

I haven't heard about it but yeah, good reason to boycott..
Here's the story that broke earlier this year. It's telling, the attitude of the gaming press towards it, that you've not heard about it. My issue is that Yves hasn't admitted any responsibility and there hasn't been any real sign of pushing for change. The standard token gestures (feminist charity donation I think?) and that's it. Meanwhile a culture which allowed this sort of stuff to thrive is allowed to carry on because the majority of people will go 'nO pOlItIcS gAmE nOw'.
All big companies are bad to some degree and everyone has to draw their own line. I'd hope that sexual assault is over most people's, but I'm continually surprised.
