Haha! Guys, I was hot on the Switch OLED model a few days ago - the announcement hype had me on a roll - but then I had a think and it's just gonna be one gaming format for me this new gen. Not gonna be for a while but, at this moment, it looks like PS5 is in the driving seat.

I genuinely still want to see the Amico get to market and do well, though.

The Amico launch has been delayed. Intellivision confirmed that the target date of 10 October cannot be met due to on-going supply and delivery challenges with some of the components.

Intellivision is aiming to supply consoles for pre-orders "by the end of the year" although it's not yet clear if this means all of the consoles pre-ordered or just the first 2,600 "Founders Edition" pre-orders.

It is a shame that COVID-related impacts have affected the launch but probably not a surprise when you see how far bigger manufacturers are also struggling to obtain components. I think the biggest challenge is that it is possible that some folk who were keen on the Amico may now have cooled off; the system has now missed three launch dates of October 2020, April 2021 and October 2021. However, the team remains passionate about the console and I hope that this can carry them through to the next launch target.

Very good of them to delay this so people with pre-orders can cancel them to avoid the grift.
