Plot
One of the few known facts about Interstellar‘s plot is that it features a group of explorers who travel through a wormhole to seek out the far reaches of the universe, but fresh story details from the Fort Macleod Gazette reveal the motivation behind the mission. That motivation is… climate change! More specifically, a crop famine that has been brought about by the effects of climate change, with corn as the last crop to be cultivated. The scientists who head through the wormhole aren’t looking for alien life or Unobtainium – they just need a planet with a few decent fields.

Very interested in this.

Remember when Matthew McConaughey used to only be in crap films?

Watched Contact recently, I really like that movie...though granted his role in that isn't huge.

I'm going to be honest and admit I've been waiting for this for years solely based on the word Wormhole.

Saw the trailer for this at the cinema and wasn't excited by it at all until I realised it was the new Christopher Nolan movie! :o

But seriously, although I'm hoping for Inception-style thrills my anticipation has been knocked back somewhat.

One of the most underrated films of the 90s, that. Loved it when I saw it in the cinema, love it every time I remember how good it is and whack it on.

So this is officially out today? Got my tickets booked for IMAX at 8PM. I've been anticipating this movie for a long time.

Very mixes reviews so far. I think it's going to really split opinion this one.

Looking forward to it, I won't see it for another week or so though.

Bradford Imax is showing the 70mm version from what I understand so I intend to see this there. I saw the Dark Knight there and the imax scenes were incredible. Have to wait a couple of weeks though.

A cinema near me is showing this in 4K resolution. Is this the same as IMAX or what?

4K should be enough for anybody.

I liked it enough to to give it a solid 7.5/10.

The first act before they left for space dragged a bit but I liked almost everything once they'd left Earth. Got a major Sunshine vibe towards the latter part of the film with crazy old Matt Damon.

I was sure Quinn from Homeland was voicing CASE but Wikipedia says no.

Film looked amazing throughout.

Just got back from seeing this, thought it was fantastic. My favourite part of the experience was when (mild spoilers from the first 20mins) the school teacher was talking about the moon landings being faked, some guy in the cinema got very confused and shouted out "What!?"

No, it's not the same. That's just regular cinema quality. In fact, some cinemas will show films in 8k. 70mm Imax is closer to 12k.

I liked it a LOT more second time round. Give it a bit of time and I could see some people championing this as Nolan's best
